£35m + £8m add ons was a fair price, £40m + £5m add ons and a quarter of the sell on fee we do is a bit cutting nose to spite face imo

I think that either gets re negotiated or we just go in for Doak and/or Fellows

Saints really need to sell as playing in the championship and 1 year less on his contract wont increase his value. We really need to get a RW player in. The 25% sell on is a big no no IMO. 40m +8m in add ons and a 10% sell on would probaly get the deal done IMO. Ornstein is tellin others what the price is. Dont see to many other clubs looking at that price.

It is. It's not what you initially said though. You've added that distinction later.

And, let's not pretend that the majority of players you listed were or are better than Wirtz. That's nonsense.

talking about a player being unproven and moving to a PL club. What else would i be referring to?

Like who? All of them were top players in the Bundesliga and all flopped in the PL.

You're making out like wirtz is some undeniable force of nature thats just going to rip the PL apart. Hes a kid whos been playing in a crap league and had a good couple of seasons there.

See it all the time where kids look unbelievable then just completely drop off and next thing you know their playing in the Italian 2nd division. Ive seen that more then they carry on a upward trajectory tbh.

To be fair I missed that .
But he definitely doesn’t want us , or he’d be here and we wouldn’t be involved trying to prise a 19yo wonder kid from the Championship.

We haven't bid mate, city pretty much raised the asking price by 15m overnight essentially which is why we sorted the KDH deal.

Well you can’t be allowing the sell on for starters. We’re paying top whack to assume the considerable risk, our upside is the potential sale value.
I like the player a lot and clearly Moyes does too but sometimes you get to a point where you just don't cross the line in negotiation and that counter offer is absolutely it.

Sadly time to walk away.
