Confirmed Signing Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall

In the games at the end of last season Alcaraz was the one getting picked. Moyes will be exploring all his options. I wouldn’t read to too much into preseason.
We’ll see mate, I’m ok with Alcaraz as a rotation. That’s what a £12m signing brings, hopefully it’s good competition that drives higher standards.

Leicester fans seem pretty neutral about him

The link below is from when they were talking about him going back in January

Interesting that, funny to see they hadn’t realised at that point just how abysmal their team was. Also talk of Harvey Barnes returning which is hilarious.

I think the jist though is that they didn’t need him as Ruud played 2 defensive midfielders (not really KDH’s game) and a number 10 (El Khannouss), so they didn’t see where he fits.

That is a bit of a concern for our team as well tbh as Moyes often sets up similar.

That’s a completely idiotic analogy though. You’re comparing a game of complete chance involving no skill with the ability to judge the value of a footballer based on metrics and watching hundreds of hours of footage. The two things are completely different. Who are the other examples of bad signings that worked out?
The one that springs to mind immediately is Allan. Walcott I guess? I mean saying that Walcott is scarily similar to what we’re doing with this one.

Just like that Garner, more then likely gets pushed out of the starting 11.

Building over your former starters with better is how you build a squad.

And then its down to Jimmy and others to try and step up and match their immediate competitions performance or at least try to. Some will step up, others will not and will leave Everton. I sense we will carry very few passemgers after the next few windows as a result.

From a sporting point of view as a group and squad pushing that positive mental 'can do" attitude can only further help drive the team forward. Yes, ts a different mindset to the one that got us over the survival line last 3 seasons. However, with those better players, the increase in quality of performance, you would hope put us on ,reasonably steep curve from our lower base currently towards initially top 8 in the league

All this said Garner looked much more comfortable last night and will be an adequate squad player for now, that I would not groan about if he was in the team on merit in the future.

He has way more quality than Garner, he’s a midfielder who can make a team tick! Hes got a lot of quality on the ball.

Meanwhile Garner can’t even take a set piece and 8/10 games you don’t even notice he is on the pitch.

KDH will be one of the first names on the team sheet.
I suppose we'll wait and see.

My recollection of KDH is that he flatters to deceive on that box-to-box, running a game claim often made about him.

I dont think he's anywhere near that sort of quality.
