The latest on Douglas Luiz from Gianni Balzarini is in line what I suspected: he says Everton have stepped back in, influenced by Forest's progress, but he thinks Luiz favors Forest.

I had said that I thought his agent, Kia Joorabchian, was using Forest (a club that's friendly to him and often used in negotiations) to get more out of Everton, and then that Juventus might be piggybacking on that ploy to get Everton to close the deal. If it's true that Everton stepped back in over the last two days, then it's working.

I admire your work on this transfer mate. Although I do suspect we moved on about a month ago, and Forest will sign him.

No real excuse next week for not getting players in. We all knew very little would happen while the team were away in America.

Absolutely no chance now of being ready for the start of the season, so these August signings better be good. Otherwise the strategy of waiting and waiting will have been a complete failure.

You may be right, but from the moment the agent went to England to talk to clubs, I was suspicious, and the more I looked into him and his relationship with Forest, the more I sympathize with conspiracy theorists.
