Confirmed Signing Tyler Dibling

Does anyone fully understand the inner workings of how a bid is made?? Do any of us know that the clubs haven’t been in dialogue since the last rejected bid?? And also just because they set a rice it isn’t decided how that money is paid. A lot goes in to even a bid I imagine otherwise a bid would have been lodged quicker I would imagine.
That is fine mate, but if we wanted this player, why are we bidding for him five weeks into pre-season?

Who knows, maybe they wanted to address the signings we have made first. Maybe like people have suggested he may not be the first choice. But let’s be honest none of us know, we just assume the people at the club have been doing nothing and I find that hard to believe.

I get that we have had years of hurt and underachievement, but I want the very culture at the club addressed, one transfer window isn’t going to define that.

He was 15 mate. Dunno bout you but when i was 15 i'd never been out of my area much other than a family holiday. By time i was 19 i'd moved out of the family home and was working.
Chalk n cheese as a person in those years.
Maybe... Just psychology of the player is as big as the ability now days... And commute from Chelsea training facility to Southampton (Hampshire) is barley an hour in most instances.

It’s really not, it suggests that the transfer market is simple and straight forward and there are so many variables that a sweeping statement like ‘why didn’t we do it earlier’ just shows a lack of understanding.
This doesn’t compute when we are a football club who arguably need more players than any other club in the division, and a lot of other clubs have managed to get deals done from the get go.

Our own manager is on record as saying we aren’t ready for the season to start, this isn’t normal.

Despite us losing half our squad, the new owners promising solid business and the manager openly stating we are well behind where we wanted to be in our recruitment

I cannot think of one reason why, if sibling was our first choice in his position , why we would have just waited weeks - even since the psr window of July 1st - we don’t appear to have even approached him or saints until last week

It can’t have been a plan

I would guess he was about 5th choice but that's where we are at this moment.

Not really. We approach a club and agree a price for a player. Then we speak to the player, they reject us and we have to move on to the next target. Rinse and repeat until you get to either a lower league player or a player who is desperate to play in the Premier League and doesn't care who he plays for.
Yes, it just implies that sibling was way down the list
