Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

As frustrating as this window is currently it’s impossible to judge until it closes.
I suspect that the aim is to ensure that we add quality to the squad. That may mean prolonged negotiations to ensure we get maximum value from our money allowing us to sign more high standard players.
I am not as concerned with how we start the season as with how we finish it .
If we fill the team with low quality/ aging players in this window , it will severely limit any hope of significant improvement for 2 or three seasons and the money spent on fees and wages will be spent for little if any return .
Totally agree. If it takes time to bring in the right player then patience is a virtue. Fans on here seem to want us to buy any old rubbish just to show we mean business and are getting unreasonably depressed over a Pre-season tournament that means diddly squat. Next season is all about building foundations for us to build on going forward hence the links with younger players with potential. People saying we'll get relegated next season because our squad is so poor seem to of forgotten how we finished last season and how Moyes will do what he always does and make us competitive regardless of new arrivals or not

Don’t think people give a toss about the pre season tournament, think it’s more how extremely thin the squad is at pre season tournament. We’ve known who was staying and going since way back to not have several targets lined up is shocking. If Brownhill is a genuine target why not go and get xhaka better player than Brownhill 3 years older but Brownhill is 30 this year, are we getting him because he’s cheap? So yes patience is a virtue if we’re signing the right players but not just options because they’re cheap and have premier league experience.

Grealish aside, the loans aren’t going to come in until late in the window. Teams just don’t let players go until they know for sure that players won’t be sold.

The bodies won’t come in until after the first few games.

I reckon we’ll only see dibling and maybe grealish (who is a special case as no one is signing him outright) before the first game.
Which is why we should have addressed immediate concerns first ie like having no right winger or no right back of standard!

I’m sure there will although I certainly expected a lot more activity this week .

It feels like we’ve multiple balls in the air but I just don’t know if that’s wishful thinking on my behalf . Given the comparison of my expectations versus reality it might very well be wishful thinking .
The TRANSFER TEAM practising.

So I agree in principle with this, certainly you can’t judge til it’s done but points in August are exactly the same value as may and given how tight things have been recently a couple of wins could be huge

What’s to say we haven’t prioritised those? It’s just that we are struggling to get the quality. Out of all of our (realistic) competitors, who have found signing players easy?

Think is going to be a crazy end to the window because alot of teams look to be in the same position as us. Not giving them a pass becuase still feel should have been players in early. But hopefully we can start getting key players in now, then towards the end is loans to help fill up some positions give us more options

Has there been any credible links to Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall?

I've no real opinion on him, but you have to question the brain of someone like him who signs for Chelsea.

[edit] To be fair, relationship with a manager and at least played in Europe.

Someone linked an aggregator from Joyce saying we’re about to bid but unsure if it’s actually from Joyce.

We were solidly linked with him on Friday.

I would presume we aren't just blindly bidding for players, and that we have done some work to determine an asking price.

Which we will then bid according to what our valuation is.

You don't bid for a house without knowing the market value.

Also, people are getting annoyed at the club because a journalist has obtained some information.

You have to prepare a bid before you place a bid. It isn't necessarily the club's fault that you know about the bid before it's gone in.

No excuses my friend we have had months now, we let two players go who could play there. I get waiting for quality to an extent but you need players in positions too as a minimum, its literally madness to me to go into a season like this. But Everton.
