Indeed...you either pay what Southampton wants asap, or wait a few days/week and still pay what Southampton wants...no difference other than in the first instance you have another player to work with in pre season. Ultimately Southampton has a price, and will not budge until the price is met. No amount of dithering will change that...they dont have to sell.
And he feels a very spursy player. Son is about to do one, and I know they bought kudus but this lad feels like a player they'de go for.

So the deal needs closing before a better offer comes in

was watching minteh play and score for fun against the saints, and wondering he was only 30m.

wished we signed him.

is dibling worth 30-40m, is a question more than my pay grade

Bid rejected thu/fri, all reports are we have second bid imminent, why does it take so long for Everton to do imminent?
Does anyone fully understand the inner workings of how a bid is made?? Do any of us know that the clubs haven’t been in dialogue since the last rejected bid?? And also just because they set a rice it isn’t decided how that money is paid. A lot goes in to even a bid I imagine otherwise a bid would have been lodged quicker I would imagine.

Agreeing a price is only part of the equation. They also have to convince the player that Everton are the club for him. If there are other clubs willing to pay the price then that is going to be difficult, again!

….i did read a few reports saying we’d been given permission to talk to the player. If true, I’d imagine we’d not still be negotiating with Soton if Dibling wasn’t open to joining us.

When you've spent 25 years throwing in complimentary tickets to Blood Brothers with every bid, it takes time to come up with an adequate replacement sweetener.

I sense he is comfortable with that, but about coming to a fee agreement.
