Rather have Brownhill than Doucoure. But the problem imo is that I don't think that Longstaff or Brownhill are bad players and would do their job here, but they won't add something to the midfield like for example Luiz.

He played CM early season, but then when the everlasting Jesus Navas retired he often played as a RB, that's correct. 3 at the back is not very common here unlike Italy for example, but versatility is a big topic in youth development that's correct.

Cheers for the response mate, I don't watch that many Spanish games so more just a wondering as know they do that in their international youth teams

That's great. We don't play in the Championship.

Doucoure scored more goals in one season in the PL (7) in 23/24 than Brownhill did in the three seasons he played in the PL (6).

Exactly. And some ppl actually love Brownhill and assume he can do the same in PL.

And yet when the best teams come up they invariably replace most of their sides and the ones they don't struggle badly.

The step up in class has never been greater, you maybe get one or two a season now who do it.

Everyone thinks about the Bowens but forgets about the host of others who step up and flop - Clarke being a recent example

Are you saying players in the Championship are better than PL? This is getting out of order. Maybe players in League 1 is better than the Championship?

If you compare their stats, use their PL stats not trying to pick stats that suit you agenda lol.

Less than 3 years not 4. And Brownhill spent most of his career in lower divisions.
