Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Don't really understand the pivot to viewing Tim as the worst player ever on here.

He's not the finished article but I think he will be a good player, good athleticism and technique, just needs to learn to read the game better.

He doesn’t look like he’s improved to me in the year since he joined. He needs to go out on loan and play every week, he isn’t up to Premier League standard as it stands currently. He definitely can’t be first reserve playing alongside James Garner if Gana’s 36 year old legs suddenly pack in midway through the season.
He does play exactly like he needs a loan, still looks inexperienced and just a bit random. Problem for him is he spent a year on loan at QPR two seasons ago and made 32 appearances. If he still needs another loan, two seasons after that, at 22 and not getting anywhere at Villa or with us (admittedly always injured), then he should be sold really. If we had more bodies, we could be more ruthless.

There’s defo something peculiar going on behind the scenes imo.
The names that have been heavily linked have either indicated they will come, or the club have been mugged off by agents creating a market for their client.
If there wasn’t believed to be a realistic chance of Luis and Fofana, the club could and should very easily brief that they aren’t targets, either explicitly or simply saying don’t believe everything reported, our targets are confidential and negotiations are ongoing.

I think there’s either issues with the contract values or someone is stalling to get a preferred intermediaries snout in the trough. I suspect the latter.

I'm being told Moyes isnt pushing recruitment...

Hahahahaha

Yeah it sounds like he’s pushing recruitment doesn’t it, with his constant digs at the recruitment team about how far behind we are. Maybe if they’d done their jobs and got off their lazy arses earlier than July 1st we wouldn’t be in a position where we’re contemplating free agent signings in August because we have no players?
