Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Yeh we should be miles further along by now, totally agree, seems we’re maybe just trying to reach above our station at the minute.

European sides do FA signings way better than the PL though.
I think there’s a lack of appreciation at the club as just how much our stock has fallen with agents and players. It was like this when we had money those first couple of seasons under Moshiri.

We are not a big club (in eyes of general footballing world but used to be seen as such). We are not a recently successful club. We are neighboured by three bigger or more recently successful clubs. There is no London factor with us and we have no European football.

We need to learn to walk before we can run and target appropriately, and this does not seem to have been the case so far this TW so will be interesting to see how August plays out.

As it stands right now, I would bite your hand off for mid table. This squad is nowhere near enough in terms of either quality OR quantity to compete in the Premier League and we would struggle over the course of a season as soon as injuries and fatigue start to bite. Our best midfielder is 36, I can’t stress enough how much we need 3 new midfielders.
I am not disputing the need for recruitment.
Merely hoping the club doesn’t start settling for low quality reinforcements at this point.
This would tell us that our direction of travel has not changed an iota despite the change of ownership.
Tired of watching crap players playing crap football for a club that cowers perpetually in fear of relegation.

To be honest it’s a bit of a problem position around the world, don’t really rate many RB’s at all.

Elias Baum would be cheapish and decent. Lad at Coventry. Vagnoman maybe.

How about Sascha Boey at Bayern?

He was getting a really strong reputation in Turkey before the move to Bayern. I remember Arsenal made a bid for him and he looked very good (on videos).

Don't really understand the pivot to viewing Tim as the worst player ever on here.

He's not the finished article but I think he will be a good player, good athleticism and technique, just needs to learn to read the game better.

He doesn’t look like he’s improved to me in the year since he joined. He needs to go out on loan and play every week, he isn’t up to Premier League standard as it stands currently. He definitely can’t be first reserve playing alongside James Garner if Gana’s 36 year old legs suddenly pack in midway through the season.

Realistic CM targets that we’ve been linked to 🎯

Morten Frendrup
Merlin Rohl
Florentino Luis
Gus Hamer
Fred
Brownhill
Dewsbury-Hall
Ndidi
Bissouma
Brownhill

Reckon we actually get any ?

It's odd tbh as he looked ready to me start of last season but wasn't the same after coming back from a minor injury.

Agree he probably needs a loan for his personal development, but with the amount of players we need to bring in I don't think it will be the worst thing in the world if he's back up cm here this season.

For me the priority at cm is to sign a real back up/understudy to Gana. When thats done we can worry about a more creative cm. The big problem would be having to play Garner and Tim together as a 2 with no true ball winning midfielder.
