Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

In the meantime, the search goes on. Everton are a right winger and two midfielders away from being much nearer to where they want to be. Douglas Luiz, the Juventus midfielder, has been discussed, but the Italians want £40million. There has been interest in Chelsea’s Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and then the intrigue surrounding Manchester City’s Jack Grealish.

It is understood that City are looking to recoup as much of his £300,000-a-week wages as possible in return for letting the England international leave on loan for the season. That could amount to almost £12million, though Everton are not dissuaded by the finances involved.

They have other priorities right now but Grealish, who turns 30 next month, is a name that could be revisited. And so, as concerning as it may be for some, September 1 — rather than August 1 — will be the day to judge Everton’s activity.
We are going to start being judged on the pitch from the 18th August whether we like it or not. I'm very fed up seeing stuff about September.

They do, and obviously we'll have to aswell, but that wasn't the point being being made. As the original post said, you can't praise Brighton for what they do and then moan about us doing it. That they don't only do that was never up for debate.

I live quite close to Brighton, so am kind of in their bubble a bit, and a lot of people don't wholly understand their approach.

Like people will often moan about say signing Young and say Brighton don't do it, when they sign Wellbeck, Lallana, Milner etc.

They've also spent very heavily the last couple of years, and have done ok from it, but as yet haven't really kicked on. Essentially it's interesting if that model eventually hits a top point.

You're right too, that it can take a lot of frustration to operate like Brighton. It looks great from afar, but in the moment feels a bit odd.

Love the summer transfer window..

We can’t transform the whole team in one summer. I’d forget about right back - O’Brien can continue there, Coleman may have to play a bit, but I wonder if we could do a Snodin with Garner? If we focus on and get some midfield reinforcement then James wouldn’t be in the First XI. The more we spend higher up the pitch then the less snazzy the right back needs to be.
Do and dont agree because think can transform the whole team this summer and help to make the team more attacking, from being so poor. Ofc still need players going forward but 100% can transform this team with a few players. Rb is a problem patterson well is crap putting it nicely, coleman is baisically done be shocked if see much of him. Getting a player similar to aznou at rb who is more attacking but still needs some work. Think out wide is a key postion now esp fb ad the modern game is about wingers being played as forwards, so fb now baisically wingbacks in a 433.
