Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

So fellow Blues, it is always darkest before the dawn.

My prediction. We will get absolutely hooped by Man Utd on Sunday playing a team that will never play again together in a formation we will never see again.

This will lead to very high levels of despondency and spending Monday avoid are lovable R/S work colleagues/family members and might involve imbibing quantities of Tennants Super to numb it all.

Then…

Rumours will start, faintly at first, but building quickly to actual concrete “HERE WE GO”

The Leeds match might have a unexciting first XI, but the bench, as they build up to fitness, will turn a 0-1 down after 60 mins to become 1-3 & our first win in August since seemingly forever. Then no looking back.

In years to come, when we are winning Quadruple’s for fun and have taken the RS’s place in the Sky 6, we will all look back on the date 3/8/25 as the darkest before, not just the dawn, but the start of a very long sunny day.

Here is to hope.:pint2:

Wingers drifting in is the so-called new thing (although Moyes did that 20 years ago). That's how Pep sets up his team now. Fullbacks are supposed to provide width. There's also a concept called roaming fullback which is basically a fullback who can pop up anywhere, like middle of opponents penalty box. Doesn't have to hold position.

Idea of wingers drifting inside are manifold, mainly it is to create overloads and passing lanes near opponents box and also allow playing two forwards.
PSG levels of ability though... Don't think we're ready for that yet, although I can see Patterson pull it off... #awaitsDaveK

Bid in for Mcatee
Find the whole McAtee thing very strange, looks decent, touring Germany but deciding to stay in the Prem but still not signed for anyone or a clear front runner for him, I imagine he must have concrete offers and a preferred destination to turn down Germany?
Are we actually in for him? Like I say strange! Thought he would have gone somewhere by now, is he turning down Germany for Forest for example?

I think the issue seems to be that he was initially being touted about 25m and loads of teams were interested, he spent ages doing the rounds and making his mind up, and in that time City saw the level of interest and jacked up the price. So now instead of him taking his pick of interested clubs it’s about who will make an improved offer.
