Would you be disappointed with £35mil + £5mil in add ons / clauses for Dibling?

I'd GLADLY pay that & the same for Chris Rigg.

Theyre going right to the very top level.

Not "silly sums" in the slightest.

I'd hope to get it done for less than 40 all on and less than 30 up from, but yeah those numbers aren't too far off. Rigg - slightly different - very talented but badly and I mean badly faded second half if the season last year, Dibling is way more ready for this level than he is yet.

Dibling I think will be a very very good player, Rigg I 'think' could be, subtle difference but why I'd pay that fee for one but not the other yet.

PSR rules won't differentiate so if we blow a stack on a kid with potential, can we afford to spend on the other players that we need to create a squad? I'm all for planning for tomorrow as long as we don't die today.

Honestly don't think PSR is much of a factor mate, unless we had several years of 150m spending no income and with inflated wages.

So not read any articles.

The fact that we have put an offer in, does this mean we have discussed a move with the player and his agent first and they are open to this?

If we get him, and on the presumption forums are just populated by old farts like me he's needs to be referred to at all times as Dwayne Dibbly

Making allowances for his age he would need to be exceptionally good for this type of fee, particularly how significant that would be for us. We can't spend that type of money for someone to spend most of the season on the bench.

Surely there would have to be a decent chunk of it performance and appearance related.

Agreed mate, that spacial awareness combined with his excellent balance and ball control makes him very difficult to stop without fouling him.

His upper body strength is decent too, I remember at Brighton away last season players were bouncing off him and they just couldn't get the ball of him so resorted to fouling him constantly.

As someone else said he's very similar to Palmer in how he plays and that combination of skillset is extremely rare.

There's a reason all the top clubs have been tracking him since the age of about 14.

Yes he's the same profile as Chris Rigg in terms of potential. Hopefully our own Harrison Armstrong and him combine well if we sign him.

I see him as moving from the RW to an ACM position in 2 seasons time -- others have posted Russell Martin saying similar.

Is that how you expect him to end up, as a 10?

Totally disagree on Rigg. I saw him play several games 2nd half of the season and he was at least as good as Dan Neil who is considered to be very good at that level.

But i do agree on their stages of development. Rigg of course is only 18, same as Armstrong.

Obviously we dont have a bottomless pit of cash but I would say that if we got Dibling and Rigg, along with having Armstrong that may well become an elite level central trio in 2 seasons time.
