2024/25 David Moyes

Oh yeah I agree on the messaging. If Dyche had said even half of this stuff then a GOT pitch fork mob would already be formed.

What I want to see is the team that finished last season starting this one in the same vein, not the usual Everton story of players being injured, players taking ages to reach any kind of form or fitness, and ultimately players only showing any form in a season once all pressure has been removed from them whatsoever.

There’s simply no good reason why Pickford, the first choice back 4, Garner Gueye Alcaraz, Ndiaye Barry McNeil, can’t start the season as a very competitive unit.

If we start with 5 at the back, players out of position, and half the back line missing with injury and throw away a handful of games I won’t be pleased and no amount of excuses about transfers will wash with that.
Spot on.

Amongst the aggro on display from Moyes over the perceived slowness of our transfer business, he's still the manager of the football club and he still has a job to do in ensuring that the squad he currently has is sufficiently prepared both physically and tactically for the start of the new season. He can't just phone it in, throw his hands up in the air and claim 'well I don't have the players' because that's just piss poor if you ask me..

I'd like to think (hope) that, come Leeds United, his tune will have changed because it needs to...

Adam Aznou on why he joined Everton: “(Moyes) talked with me, he spoke with me about the team and how he wants me. So I decided directly when I spoke with him.I decided really quickly because of the words he gave me. He gave me confidence, so I decided to sign.”

Shame that he appears unable to sweet talk the likes of Fofana, Luiz et al in a similar manner ey..

Ha Ha. I wonder what he thought of Moyes' words last night: "yes, he's one for the future I dont expect to see him getting games anytime soon".

I bet he left that out of his elevator pitch.

I was excited and optimistic after the season ended and it has all been gradually sucked away from me. Can't blame Moyes for calling them out as they have done a terrible job in this window but perhaps it is doing more harm than good. Say it once and then leave it maybe. I don't know. Something isn't right either way. It was meant to be new owners, reset, rebuild and we seem to be just be doing the same thing all over again. We don't look like a club on the dawn of a new age, we look like a club that is stale and needs new ideas and direction.

Wet paper bag to a gunfight.

I am beginning to despair with all that's going on.

We play a Leeds side on Monday fortnight away and, rather than steadily raising our game to a positive level that would give confidence, all we are hearing is negative vibes, and what we have seen on the pitch so far is risible.

Team will be fine. Def need a few more in and i reckon they'll come in but whats been exposed is going to this tournament with such a small squad. We wont be chucking 10 players on in league games and the opposition wont either. Where it could really come away at the seams is if we get a bad run of injuries.

I wouldn’t be surprised if we won at Leeds 😂
