Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Personally I don't want to see Garner in any midfield, I honestly don't see what he brings to the table, no assists, scores very rarely, just not good enough as far as I'm concerned

My issue is the same with everyone whos has to play with gana.Their forced to sit back and plug the gaps that gana leaves when he presses.

When garner played for forest he was a more attacking cm but here hes forced further back that isnt his game imo.

I honestly believe that our issue at cm is gana. Individually he does well statistically speaking but i feel its at the detriment of the team.

That last paragraph is wild

There has to be somewhere in between a player at Champions league level and a player at Championship level though. I don’t get the idea Fellows would be the next choice after Fofana.
Yeah there's definitely players that fall inbetween those two ability wise, but then I would say for the most part you're looking at overpaying for fairly average players.

I would class most of the signings we made under moshiri as that level of kind of inbetween player, not good enough for a top team but too good for 2nd tier.

Without wanting to bail out our recruitment team too much I do think we're in a bit of an impossible position, neither here nor there as a club. Fans (and manager and players) are expecting a certain level of player to come in now as thats what we've been sold by higher ups, those players are certainly not looking at us as a club that matches their ambitions atm though which is fair enough tbh.

I know that I've become obsessed with this but it drives me crazy how few people seem bothered about our RB situation, inside the club and out. There's comments and lists on this very forum saying things like "we need two players in X position" by the start of the season and position X is never RB. I genuinely think a decent RB will be transformative for this team. It will calm down the midfielders and open up the right hand side in an attacking sense. But no, let's play JOB or Garner there, that's fine. Apparently.

Needed a right back for so long, it’s ridiculous.

Patterson must be our record signing there at £10 million, god knows what is second in the list. Have we ever even spent a million on one!?

Edit - any advance on Earl Barrett for £1.7 million (and god he was awful)

Convenient missing out of the 90 in the last game there to make it sound like a good point. As I said, 14 starts and 3 sub appearances out of 19 games. Suggesting Moyes didn't pick him or limited his time on the pitch is just demonstrably untrue. It doesn't mean he loves him or we'll resign him, but I really don't see the point in pretending stuff didn't happen when it did.
My point was that he limited his game time towards the end of his time here despite Lindstrom being out. He defo became out of favour.

Re: Harrison - if he was so obvious a signing he’d have been made permanent around the same time Charly was

Fofana/Luiz/Grealish/McAtee - how much longer do we need to give it before moving on? We don’t have the time to spare

Hackney - it’s telling that despite being rated, absolutely zero PL clubs have gone for him
Nah it's exactly the opposite. Obviously he wouldn't be our first choice, he's likely to remain available all summer, and he would need minimal integration time because he's spent the last 2 years here. If he was to come it would be late in the window and always would have been.

I saw Hackney stats, they were unreal - is he just another of those that is in the in-between? Too good for prem youth teams but not good enough for prem starts.

The fact there are no concrete links to anyone doesnt help either. We're all scrambling around desperate for something and nothing seems to be cooking.

Doesn't really mean anything. Alcaraz came out of the blue as practically a done deal, Aznou was first reported by Boyland last Tuesday - done a week later.
