Players, even the good ones are driving by money...we have good ones playing in the Saudi leagues...they are there because of money. Ultimately it is down to the package on offer. I am convinced that if we were prepared to offer 150k a week to fofana he will be there tomorrow ready to sign.
Exactly, and we all know what happened when we aimlessly threw money at players with lengthy, expensive contracts, where it all fell foul.

That's not to say we shouldn't be offering decent wages to players who are deserving of it, but rather there needs to be due diligence and negotiations.

While players are driven by money, Moyes is known for wanting players with certain characteristics too; it's paying the right money for the right person.

Don’t think it’s a lack of trying they’ve set everything in place that looks good we’re just not a very attractive football club to top players we’re low table team
The real skill is knowing which level of player to pitch ourselves at, and then successfully doing that.

You want a player seemingly just out of reach, but who you're able to persuade with skill and effort.

If it's not going to happen, you need to sense that quickly and move on.

Be interesting to see how the Friedkins react to Moyes displaying his unhappiness in their own back yard.
Can’t imagine they will be impressed (regardless whether Moyes is right show his frustration or not)

They’ve shown themselves to be ruthless in Rome, I wonder whether Moyes is over stating his hand atm.
I don't think so.

There's already so much upheaval that they won't want to add the huge variable of a new manager to the mix.

I think he knows he's safe, which is why he feels empowered to speak up and apply public pressure.

Hopefully for the fans it's win-win.

1. Moyes rightfully calls them out, they change tact and bring players in.

2. They see their arses, fire him and bring in a higher profile manager.

Unless:

3. They remain silent and anonymous owners, deal with the complaints behind the scenes yet continue to refuse to purchase new players.

Or:

4. They fire Moyes and bring in a crap manager, continuing to fail to sign players.

Nah theyre not that bothered.
Billionaire Texans basically being told they don’t know what they’re doing?
They may or maybe not be particularly bothered about Everton (best part of a billion dollars invested suggest they should be) but suggesting incompetence to a fella whose ego has been forged by success and power, isn’t going to go down well imo.

At best, when (not if) they get some more players in, their tolerance for Moyes to get the team higher up the table will have been considerably shortened I think.

Ego and money is far different to being bothered about the club. I don't think theyre particularly bothered about the situation to be honest

I don't think they will be too bothered by it and they will also know that the overwhelming majority of supporters agree with Moyes on this

Ultimately, everything reflects on them. I wouldn't expect Friedkin to have his finger on the pulse of fan opinion but I would think the current situation has not gone unnoticed at a corporate level in Houston.

It's serious enough when this is their first opportunity to shift the dial here and you have the incumbent manager saying we're struggling. Personally I think there is a lot of dismay and disappointment currently and that wasn't expected this summer.

If people think they can't move the club up a level then you get apathy and disharmony. Expectations for next summer will be reduced.

It's not good for Kinnear and Moyes. I don't think they will make changes in the short-term but they've hired and fired plenty at Roma. If there is money left on the table come September Kinnear will be under scrutiny in particular. I thought the pressure showed a little in his interview at the weekend. I'm sure he thought we would be on schedule by now and admitting to the contrary is an admission of failure.
