Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Nobody wants to come when offered "normal" to low wages. There has to be financial incentives for the players to come. We are trying for elite players, but dont want to pay the fee/wages for those required to get deals done. I am guessing something is failing in the negotiations.

Honest question, how do you know what we’ve offered them wage wise?

Well done Moyes. Any decent players now will just be thinking f*** that no one else will go there.
you need to cut all ties with the old regime to move forward.. mister whippy, bill and that tribe all dead. Moshiri. Deadish. But we have Moyes (mystic meg voice) "a taurus link from yesteryear stunts you this week, choose carefully" and we have to be careful, he has Bill in him, but not like that. Has David Moyes realised he is rich? Everton can buy top players. And bottom.

I think it will be ok and I don't think there is any harm in what he has said, he's not the only one and it shows what a farce it has all turned into, the top clubs have the 'S' tier level of players available. And not all sold so some move down to 'A' and then not all sold, moves to 'B' and so on. It's a big puzzle that unfolds slowly until the transfer deadline where it completely goes bananas. It's strategy. As I said at the start of this para, I think we will be ok.

This is more embarrassing than getting caught in a Bonnie Blue lineup.
Or imagine getting to the front of that line up, one where she’s been through 100s of fellas, (and to say the least isn’t very picky) and she stops and says no thank you, not that one. Please don’t be looking for any transfer analogy with this, there’s isn’t one, but you’d be devastated wouldn’t you?

The most charitable interpretation is that Moyes is signaling urgency and a willingness to move on from current offers and proposals. He's indicated that there is a budget — but it's not that big, and they need to decide how to spend it well — and made it clear that they're going to continue looking and want deals done quickly.

It may be wishful thinking, but I don't want to believe he's pressuring the board or the CEO, or expressing frustration with the leadership team. If you're a club or an agent stalling for more, Moyes may just be putting on the pressure. It looks bad from where we sit, but if you're Douglas Luiz or Malick Fofana, and no one else has put in a formal bid yet, you may be inclined to agree before the only formal offer you have walks away.
