Speculation but it feels illustrative they haven’t reached a verdict for the assault the plod who stamped on the lads head . Feels like deliberation might have focused on that .

The jury were tasked with deciding on whether the policeman had been assaulted by the accused pair.
What happened after the assault with the police officer claiming self-defence and his firearm at risk of being allegedly stolen should have no bearing on their decision on whether the policeman had been assaulted…the evidence suggests he was and that’s why the CPS will go for a retrial.

A bit of a cop-out(pardon the pun) from the jury IMHO.
