Transfer Rumour Malick Fofana

Nowadays it doesn’t seem to be just the price but how the payments are structured and things like sell on rights etc.
All clubs are trying to structure finances to get the most value without breaching fiscal regulations.
It is far more complicated than it used to be .
I get that , I really do.

But point still stands Lyon have rejected our 1st bid , where is our 2nd bid ? or just match their valuation.
Gives the player a call to make .

Or we just end up in a permanent state of limbo.
That's not good with not a lot of time left.

Am I right in saying according to Romano then Forest had a bid accepted early July?

I'd move on. Its clear he doesn't want to come to us, or he'd have forced a move by now. Its not like our offer isn't close to their asking price. A deal could be reached with some addons. It's a lot of money to spend on a player that's not fully invested in the move. We might be better spending that sort of cash on a dynamic right sided winger.
Even if he wanted to force a move it wouldn't happen unless Lyons valuation is met.

I think it’s time we gave some deadlines. Eg if a player doesn’t agree a move by such a date we move on to other targets. We can’t just be kept waiting by players and agents who at the face of it, are reluctant to come here. Otherwise our alternative targets could be snapped up by someone else and we’ll be left with no one.

Boro have accepted a bid from Ipswich for Hackney today.
It was yesterday, but yeh, it's why it may trigger bigger teams to act. Negotiation is effectively done, price is basically set. Player wants Premier League, wage demands are now known to be modest for Premier League standards after what Ipswich have offered.

As mentioned, there is nothing to suggest we are still actively pursueing the player right now. Many are just assuming because he's not gone anywhere yet, that we're still sat in the Lyon car park waiting for an answer.
