Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

So Transfer deadline is 7pm on September 1 - so Nick Hammond and his team have 29 days (835 hours) to find 6-7 players

4+ loans spots to use (Grealish/Luiz etc)
Some useful free transfers (Brownhill / Semedo/Calabria/Coufal)
And I’d imagine £100m to spend on 2-3 perm quality signings

Appreciate we’re going after the best (elite) players for RW/AM/CM positions but we now need target to out of favour rough diamonds like when we signed Ndiaye, Alcaraz etc

Moyes interview overnight and Kinnear flying back to UK has now flicked the switch and I’d expect the media to leak more new names over the next week (Maitland-Niles & Assane Diao etc) and some concrete bids where players are interested.

Malick Fofana - is waiting for UCL teams to bid for him .. but those suitors don’t seem to be interested at the price Lyon want or have moved on to other targets.

Still time for a decent squad to be assembled so have faith - UTFT 💙🤍

Clubs like Brighton and Bournemouth have already sold their best players by now.

Fans only seem to want the nice half of the model that Brighton Brentford Bournemouth carry out. Want to start the window by selling Pickford Branthwaite Ndiaye? Didn’t think so.
Eh. They don't have to sell all of their good players, they sell when offer is high enough. Just like we have done with Branthwaite. Had ManU offered 80 million last summer I suspect he'd been off.

If we can sign a player for 30 million and sell him for 80 two years from now, of course that's what's done. Don't kid yourself thinking otherwise.

If the elite clubs don’t swoop and we manage to pull off Fofana and or Luiz there are going to be a lot of people not allowed to celebrate because we should’ve snapped up worse players earlier
You seem incapable of reading. I suggest before s*tposting this sort of stuff you at least check what people have actually written.

Transfers should now be all that Kinnear focuses on.. Without a team there is no club for him to run!

100% every manager and fan knows this, unfortunately, we are in a situation where we cannot pay 17mil for players that are either a gamble or at least not ready to start in the prem(look at Chermiti). Our squad size and financial restraints mean we need to have players that are ready.

I imagine the plan is to buy ready to go players, get a foothold in the top half of the table, enjoy the exrta financial benefits that bring and THEN we can start on that model. Until then it is just not very viable.

There's also the very clear reason trams do t do this is that the extra season or two they spend after leaving say Belgium to play in France or Portugal is what they need to develop to the level they can play regularly in the Premier League.

If we buy someone straight from Belgium say there's a god chance he isn't ready and either stagnates getting very few minutes or is loaned out - we don't have the financial ability to be paying 10-15+m for a player who isn't ready to play.

Case in point if Chermiti would have moved to a French side there's a chance he may have ended up developing very nicely and have been getting brought to the premier league for 30m this season the way we did with Barry.

We don't need 7 players!!!

Filling the squad with rubbish wont help either.

This squad minus Doucoure, Young and DCL who everyone said weren’t good enough, plus Barry and Aznou finished in a European position based off results since Moyes took over

Everything is fine
If Doucoure, Young, Harrison and DCL were all starters or at least 'adequate' replacements off the bench (ok minus the last one as never fit) and we have not replaced them nor did we think they were good enough, doesn't really give much confidence in the next level of players who are taking over their position in the team really does it?

Or then the bench.
