Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

What should happen for the Leeds game is we put out a team extremely similar to the one that finished the season so well.

A solid back 5

Garner and Gueye in the middle

McNeil Alcaraz Ndiaye behind Beto or Barry.

Even then we’d still have Barry Aznou Irogebunam Armstrong Chermiti Keane Patterson Coleman sat on the bench.

If Leeds is a total shambles it’s because the fitness of the team and their preparation isn’t correct because at the end of last season that same 11 would probably have gone there and won considering it was doing that at Fulham Forest and Newcastle. It won’t be because we haven’t bought in 5 first team players.
Moyes can rightly moan about recruitment (even allowing for his own involvement or attractiveness to players), but his team should be good enough to go to Leeds and get some kind of result.

It seems like that doesn't matter if a player is waiting on a Champion League club.

At least, it doesn't matter until the player has no better options.

So if we get players like this in, it will be at the end of the window.
Kubo, we wouldn’t pay the asking price, Fofana we haven’t paid the asking price Luiz, we want a loan instead of a transfer fee which Juve want

This is down to injuries again with Everton, it would be the second season in a row that Branthwaite hasn’t started because he’s injured.

I think Tarkowski is back in training now so he should be ready.
It's pretty normal to have a couple of injuries. We are unlucky its 2 in the same position, but plenty of other clubs have 2 or 3 injuries. Our problem is we absolutely do not have the squad to even deal with a small number of injuries or players unavailable.

That’s a better 11 than Leeds will put out. They need to go and show it. It’s probably a better opportunity for a more joined up performance than trying to bed in 5 players into an 11 that have hardly played together.

But asking prices mean nothing if a player has a better option.

I'm all for paying the asking price of a single player who can act as a beacon for others, but it won't matter if they are waiting on more attractive offers.

We should be paying the asking price for players who are willing to come. Now.

So we’re screwed from 60 mins onwards then. Hope we’ve built up a big lead by that point.

And if the fitness isn’t correct that’s because they’ve had a shambolic pre season and been run into the ground because we’ve got no squad isn’t it? So it’s precisely because we haven’t brought in enough players?
