Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Us going for established European players has probably hampered us.

The South American market is where we should be looking.

You've got players over there you could pick up for relatively low fees and would literally walk to you, regardless of whether you're in Europe or not.
You only have to look at the recruitment of Brighton as the benchmark.

Amorim was moaning 2 weeks ago about signing it’s nothing out the ordinary for managers to moan
Yes but he's already had a 60m plus signing and a 70m plus signing, so clearly he has been backed even if he wants to moan.

United have spent astronomical amounts of money in the last decade, so hearing anyone at United moaning about signings is a bit of a joke to be honest. Amorim has decided to keep quite a few players out of his squad. Moyes literally does not have any squad.

What's clear is this isn't just a problem we are facing - a lot of clubs are facing similar issues this summer. I think it will all come good eventually - but it's still frustrating.
Yep. Looking back now at the Ndiaye deal, it's a bit of a steal. A deal up to £17m for him and now targets in his relative position this summer you're looking at anywhere from £30-50m.

He is slow and like a right-footed McNeil.
Fellows is also a bit of a one trick pony. The vast majority of his assists were a step over, quick shift to the outside and a cross dinked to the back post. PL defenders would sniff that out in a heartbeat. Bowen when signed by WHU from Hull tells us what Moyes values. A player who has pace to counter, can go outside or in, interchange positions and score goals as well as contribute to assists. Can Fellows be coached to do that? I don’t know but he does not do it much right now and he will never have that pace.

'Reasonable wages' is one thing mate, but if the quality of player isn't at least an improvement on what came before then the club are absolutely right to hold fire and not just buy for buyings sake just because were looking light in July..
Difference here is that I expect the club to _also_ make some better signings. What do you expect? Nine 20-year old wonderkids who can step right into the first team and start matches?

We literally just binned off a load of loanees/out-of-contract players precisely because we deemed them not good enough/too expensive on the books for this new 'era' of the club.... and loads of you are claiming that we should've just gone straight back out in July for crap like-for-likes to 'pad out' the squad and basically undo that anyway

Have you listened to yourselves??

The other factor in this is Moyes. Do people really think if he was in there slamming tables demanding Harrison Coufal etc. were signed that they wouldn’t be signed already?

Moyes doesn’t want them either. He knows he’s on a hiding to nothing here where he has to deliver or he’ll probably get fired at some point. He wants the best players he possibly can.

You can compare his YouTube clip with the clip of Fofana. Fofana is quick.

So you're calling a player slow off a few clips of him crossing on a YouTube video... with no actual evidence to back it up? Because he runs past full-backs on his clips but you're likely ignoring that.

The only person we should ask is @Littlesue who is an actual WBA fan.
