Unfortunately the fans don't buy players, try as they might. We're (the club) trying to sell 30 years of mediocrity like, after however many months of the Friedkins, everything's fine...I'm not surprised we're seemingly having trouble; players and agents don't forget when it's right in their face every year and I'm sure they'd rather see proof.
We get an interview around late July / early August every season telling us everything is going well and to judge them on 1st September. Why did we get that fluff piece from Kinnear about us being “on track” and everything’s going to plan? Clearly the manager doesn’t agree. They are not aligned whatsoever. An absolute unholy mess.

It's pretty obvious to anyone who has looked at our squad, or watched us play on Saturday, that we are clearly not on track.
I'm glad to hear that because some of the squads we have fielded for August matches in recent years have been woeful. It's not coincidence our record in August is abysmal and our recruitment is also rubbish and last minute.Moyes is in the Concerned camp.
My main takeaway from that is him saying giving Evertonians a team they can be proud of “when the season begins” not at the end of the transfer window.
And unfortunately, Everton is synonymous in most peoples' minds with mediocrity and bad football. You don’t change that narrative with signing Tom Fellows. That's the unfortunate truth of the situation.Sounds like certain players are just p1ssing us about: Luis/Fofana/Mcatee, we are Everton, none of these no marks are bigger, Koff them off and move onto more realistic targets ie Fellows, Hackney
Spot on.I think players are rejecting us because we are aiming for very good players who want to join bigger clubs that are playing in Europe if we were targeting average players I dare say we’d have plenty in now.
I’d rather aim high and get quality in later than aim low and get average in sooner - Frustrating as it is.
Here’s three that could be completed this week…
Doucs
DCL
Harrison
Jobs a goodun
It definitely seems like the manager would disagree entirely…the debacle was having so many players out of contract at the same time. Some of us were warning about zero continuity planning way in advance.
This regime has a mess to fix and it’ll take quite a few windows to do so.
The squad is threadbare but the team for Leeds on 18th Aug should be as least as good as the one that finished the season so effectively under Moyes. The window closes on 1st September and I expect we’ll be doing plenty of business up to that date.
So far, so good.
