A call to arms from ‘The Moyesiah’ if ever there was one.

Question is has he spoke to any of these targets yet? Could that be what’s putting them off or is it simply ‘stalling in some departments’

It’s interesting and right that he sets very high standards for those around him, but where are the caveats he tends to apply to his deliverables?

Are you suggesting it’s unreasonable that he’s expecting the recruitment team to recruit players?

Far from it, everyone in the ‘transfer committee’ has a part to play - including Moyes.

I’m merely observing that the standards he sets for his principle role, the teams results, often have a ‘but’ of some sort after them, whereas his expectations on the rest of the committee seem quite binary.

Think that presser has made the situation pretty crystal clear now - its obviously been taking a bit more time than anticipated to get our top targets in, which Moyes stressed at length.

I'm certainly expending a lot more movement in August once the 'pieces move into place', as he puts it.

I think there is a reality here that you can’t just turn up and buy players quickly without t throwing cash around. Look at Man United for that. Weve changed our whole football department, leadership structure, half the squad has gone and it’s a huge turnaround.

We have a lot of new starters in important roles who I’d like to be careful and spend wisely. I’d rather us finish 12th again this year and be patient.

If you make a mistake in recruitment in football you have to say good morning to them for the next 4 years.

He’s always had a tendency to slyly pass blame onto others I think.

"We're having a bit of a struggle getting ones in quickly," said Moyes. "But when you think again about it, we've been in or around the relegation positions for the last five years, not far off the bottom, so maybe there's been reasons for it."

If he ever gets an opportunity to drag the club down he'll find it.

My suspicion is that it's wages. Players and their agents will go anywhere as long as that's good.

They're cash oriented beasts.

The recruitment team clearly don't have a strategy that is working right now. Moyes is right to be very unhappy.
I cant see him being here at Christmas if we dont have a decent first half of the season - TFG will ditch him.

That's looking like a good bet atm.

He’s just saying exactly what you’ve been saying about the recruitment team though?

This is about the manager not being backed. Not the manager being fired.
This is the Moyes thread.

IMO this is heading for the buffers as his comments will be riling TFG and they dont stand on ceremony.

Terrible combination we have:

absent owners + inexperienced team to do deals + frustrated manager = showdown.

Yes and I'm saying Moyes is right to criticise the recruitment team. Not that he should be fired in 6 months.
