He would make us better. Played at higher PL and international levels than essentially all but Pickford. This would be the balance between young and experienced Moyes is looking for.
Their negotiating position for wages is likely strengthened towards the end of the window when clubs become desperate. As they get paid by us anyway, why jump at less money? Both DCL and Doucoure feel they are worth £100k plus per week.So in other words, Doucoure and DCL not being signed to collect additional wages is nonsense.
They arent signed because no one wants to pay what they want. Rule 19.2 clearly says that after their contract expires on July 1st, A. The club pays them one additional month of their normal wage. B. If they sign with anyone within that month, for LESS than the club is paying them, the club makes up the difference.
So whether they sign, or dont sign, they get paid the exact same money. They gain absolutely nothing by waiting a month to sign with a new club.
I find it baffling if it’s true. Honestly if I was in the negotiating room with the player I’d look him dead in the eye poker faced and say “what would you need that for?”. Utterly insane.
Personally I think Doucoure just hasn’t found a new club because he’s not very good.
Tebbit isn't available anymore.Could do with a right winger now
Don't see anyone who wants that as the club would not exist anymore.
I was going to say pleasure but it sounded a bit rude.![]()
What a kindness...
Feels like a west ham move that one, they often hoover up the cast offs from the better London teams squads.Anyone else concerned that we will be one of the two PL clubs to have bid for Trossard? Good player like, but he isn't amazing and is 30.
Surely the contract we offered to DCL was the same if not better than what he was on… meaning he wouldn’t be entitled to an additional months salary based on 19.2
2 man midfield is WILD.Most of the decisions we have made this summer has been exactly what we need imo and bodes well for the future:
. Doucoure / dcl and young all let go
. Branthwaite contract signed and made a priority.
. Barry/ Alcaraz / new left back all the right age bracket with potential to grow into top players.
Arguably keeping Coleman on the only thing I disagree with.
The main issue is there is just too much to do. As a minimum we need three new first teamers (right wing, centre mid, right back) and then cover at both right wing and centre mid again imo.
I do hope we get someone like Grealish done as a bit of statement of intent and hoping that a couple more follow due to him.
Then plaster the rest, surprised we haven’t gone for brownhill as a squad option.
Adding Grealish, luiz and fofana (similar quality) would be incredible and would transform us I think.
Pickford
O Brien, Tarky, Branthwaite, myko
Gana luiz
ndiaye, Grealish, fofana
Beto
With decent bench options of Alvarez , McNeill, Barry etc. enough quality in that side to fight for Europe imo.
I’m an all out attack kind of guy2 man midfield is WILD.
And we're still wondering why you aren't in the room during multi-million pound deals. It's certainly a quandary for me.I find it baffling if it’s true. Honestly if I was in the negotiating room with the player I’d look him dead in the eye poker faced and say “what would you need that for?”. Utterly insane.
Personally I think Doucoure just hasn’t found a new club because he’s not very good.
I dunno, there were reports in the media that at one point the contract offer had been withdrawn so maybe when he'd had his latest obligatory long spell on the sidelines the club reassessed and made him an offer on more realistic wages. I don't suppose we'll know unless DCL or someone from the club speaks about it.Surely the contract we offered to DCL was the same if not better than what he was on… meaning he wouldn’t be entitled to an additional months salary based on 19.2
