So, Doucoure and DCL have just been paid another 4 weeks salary by Everton for basically being unwanted? I can’t help but feel this might upset a few people.
In case anybody is wondering, that’s appx £1m. Probably why we are not getting players in early to save on the wages.

I’ve heard what’s holding deals up is because these two haven’t vacated their lockers yet, once the lockers space frees up things will start moving.

People have short memories

Remember only last summer bracing ourselves and praying Dyche could keep us up whilst playing anti-football so those ‘best stadium in the championship’ jokes didn’t come true? Then worrying if the almost no money we spent might even cause the league to randomly point deduct us again for a laugh.

Someone screen grabbed certain contract stipulations, but screen grabs can't be used for search option. I'll be 6 feet deep before I go trawling through this travesty again.

So in other words, Doucoure and DCL not being signed to collect additional wages is nonsense.

They arent signed because no one wants to pay what they want. Rule 19.2 clearly says that after their contract expires on July 1st, A. The club pays them one additional month of their normal wage. B. If they sign with anyone within that month, for LESS than the club is paying them, the club makes up the difference.

So whether they sign, or dont sign, they get paid the exact same money. They gain absolutely nothing by waiting a month to sign with a new club.
