Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Not a chance Armstrong is still here after August, IMO.

If we don't get the numbers in, I think he will be. We've got a lot to do in this window, and a promising youngster that can play in a number of positions in midfield who has just come off an excellent spell in the championship could be seen as the ideal squad player.

It's probably more sensible in the long run for his development to get him another good loan in the championship rather than have him as a squad option here, but I don't think we let him go unless we get someone else in for that position behind the striker.

And as it stands we need 2 wingers/wide players, a rb, and a deeper lying centre mid. That already seems stressful to get done without needing a another number 10 too.

you seem like an optimist, I think you are at the wrong place. Try down the hall to the right.

Since a year ago, we are utterly and miraculously transformed.

The club still exists.
Bramley Moore, one of the best stadiums in the World, is actually built.
Our debt is sorted.
We finished midtable.
Moyes is the manager.
American billionaires own us.
Backroom staff has been properly sorted.
We have no PSR issues.
We have money to spend.

It's a miracle.

Why wouldn't we be optimistic?

I guess it is a player welfare aspect, where come FT of the last game they are not out on their ear. I suspect an aspect of 'good faith' was negotiated into the agreement where players weren't frightened to play their final game and so didn't cry off with fake injury out of fear for being financially in peril if they were to get injured in that final game. For instance. Of course this is a multidivisional stipulation, that applies to all professionals in the game under the FA. So although the idea of financial peril may not apply to a veteran of multiple seasons in the PL, care is afforded by contract to players having earned far far less further down the divisions. I'm no legal expert, I can barely tie my laces.

Why would we owe him money for being too crap to find a new club?

Great post.

It’s going to take a while for blues to get over the constant disappointments of the last 25 years though, so we will still have a great deal of pessimism in the fan base due to what we’ve been through.

But all of the things you have written are 100% true and we should all be looking forward to a brighter future.

For a purely satirical assessment, we are all emerging from the cellar, the beatings have stopped and our captors are gone.

To clarify, I am with you! Very much excited to see what happens, think we have gotten often a decent start but need 2-3 signings that can slot into the first 11.

If contracts stipulate payment up until August, then that's when they get paid until unless another contract is agreed.

But the contract is until the end of June so why on earth would they be paid until August    I’ve never heard of this in my life until this summer when someone on here seems to have made it up.
