Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Oh I'd deffo have McAtee over Grealish all day. If we can make the figures work though Grealish ain't a bad back up.

Grealish is the type who if you're in a relegation fight or on the cuso of Europe yeah a great one season pick up.

But I just wanna see ya building towards something now, we fingers crossed should be nowhere near relegation we also are unlikely to be anywhere near CL, so a big one season expenditure I dont see the point except for the optics.

Poor old Ainsley doesn't even get his own thread

Personally I do not see Grealish as an 'Everton' Player but if his goal is to play his way into the World Cup Squad then it might work.. I still think the chances of it being successful are low. I would rather continue the focus on younger players in this window and sign Aznou, Mcatee and Hackney with a Fofana bonus. Kubo seems to have gone off the boil. add those younger players to Barry, Travers and Alcaraz, a couple of older loanes and it would be a very successful window
A loan for Luiz, sign AMN and the rest of what you said I'd think would pretty much be a perfect window

Doesn't seem much evidence of a global approach to scouting, which isnt surprising with Moyes' premium on experience.

Must be a few gems in the Belgian league for example. They should be looking everywhere. Some snide Serbian would be great too.

Just one or two of these finds is enough, year on year. We wouldn't have to overpay and it would have kept things ticking over on squad numbers.

The transfer so far have been

Barry - Villarreal
Aznou - Bayern
Alcaraz - Flamengo
Travers - Bournemouth

We’ve also had strong links to conceicao, Kubo, Fofana, Luiz and AMN all playing abroad.

There’s also been links to Grealish and Mcatee in the prem.

I’d say it was a pretty balanced approach so far?

The whole situation at the moment is a bit strange. You have to imagine that there is work going on behind the scenes for targets that haven't been named.

Grealish won't move until the end of the window, Fofana will only come if there are no clubs with European football in for him. Douglas Luiz wants huge wages and Juve only want a transfer (or a loan with an obligation) to basically recoup €40m, City have moved the goalposts on McAtee from £25m to £35. And Sociedad have no interest in letting Kubo go for south of €50m.

So none of these are being resolved anytime soon. And we are desperate for players!

He improves the team, the only reason not to go for him is if we are stuck with 300k a week.. Either City take up at least 60% or he takes the hit himself.

Spot on. Original 93.6m 6 year contract with 31.2m approx base salary remaining Somebody is going to have to budge on the financials or few if any clubs are taking that on. And city will hsve approx 40m book value to consider as well. It's a pricey and complex deal to do whichever way you look at it.

Adam Aznou has now completed his medical at Pall Mall in Liverpool and is now expected to sign contracts this afternoon and do signing photos/interviews etc at HD stadium.

Official club announcement could come as early at tonight but more than likely tomorrow morning.

He will to fly to Atlanta from Manchester airport tomorrow and be involved in Sundays game vs Manchester Utd..

Very easy you do the one which is simplest, Mcatee 35m including ofc substantial bonuses to get to that and get him signed
