Who is to blame for the lack of new signings?

Why do we have a lack of new signings?

I reckon someone obscure, the Marquis de Sade? Kevin Peter Hall? Bram Stoker?

Or maybe, just maybe, signing up for a project here isn't all that hot a ticket because of the points deductions and relegation battles.

Incremental improvement required until a feasible chance at a fighting go can be chanced upon?

I wonder what the agents have to say about Everton plc when they're having a drink in the bar and discussing players and terms...

We seem to be targeting the wrong type of player again, the type that think they are too good for us and only want Champions League football. If they don’t want to come we need to move on to players that do want to play for us and actually get players in.

If we get through another transfer window without 2 RW’s then collectively the recruitment team have failed.
Also signing LW or AM and putting them on the RW do not count.

I'll be honest here mate, any player that instantly jumps at the chance at joining us unless they are coming from a tinpot league or are VERY young, I'd be nervous about, good players will have options and choices to make - bad ones will jump at the first opportunity to get a move beyond their level.

But when you look at other clubs in our league, Bournemouth, Brighton, Brentford etc, they are able to attract players that improve them and that they turn into more valuable players. Thats what we should be doing.
We have to accept that we can’t become a top 4 team in one transfer window. In the past we tried signing older players with “premier league experience” if didn’t work and it was expensive.
I don’t accept that there are not players currently playing in European leagues or the championship that we can’t get and improve us. We see other premier league teams do if every year

No offence meant here mate, but we have signed a 22yo striker for around 30m, Alcaraz for around 10 whose only 22 himself and a 19 yo for around 6-7m who has imo massive potential.

What you say you want is in fact exactly what we are trying to do. Look at the links also - Fofana is 20, cost around 35m Mcatee is around 25-30m and 22.

All of these players will be imo at worse break even deals, and all have the serious chance of being worth double or more in a few years time if they live up to what they've shown so far.

I agree with what you say about Barry and Alcaraz, But the other players we have tried to sign and not managed to get; Tete, Tagliafico, Douglas Luis, Grealish, McAtee, Forfana, Kubo. Moyes has basically said in his press conference after the Bournemouth game that some of these players don't want to join us, yet. Because they are waiting for what they see as a better offer, either a team in European competition or a team seen as a "bigger team" or more money . So this is why we have not signed more players.

Now we, as fans, are separate from it, so perhaps the recruitment team are confident that before the transfer window shuts we will get some of these players and maybe they do have 2nd and 3rd choices lined up if we are not going to get our first choice options. But it feels like there is not enough going on, particularly when we can all see big gaps in the squad and the manager is coming out and saying we need to sign 9 or 10 this window.
