Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Well it could takes pages to explain, but basically Orienteering is a competitive sport in which runners have to find their way across forests, country parks , rough country even urban areas with the aid of a map and compass. Every two years the big event in Scotland is “ The Six Day event” . 2 years ago it was in my area of Moray, this week it’s “ Royal Deeside ‘25 “ with different forests each day and 3000 competitors from lots of countries , particularly Scandinavia where it’s a big sport. It’s near Balmoral Sunday and Monday.
Today my Orienteering club were organising the starts so I had a job on instructing people at the final start line of picking up a map for their course , punching a “ dibber” to start etc. Basically you navigate from the start to Control No 1 which will be described with a symbol and number eg Large boulder , 135. Check it’s the right one then off to No 2 in a different part of the forest and so on around the course. Ignore others , they may be on a different course with different controls.
After helping I did my run, and it was really tough , hard to move through knee deep heather, but I finished it !
I only ever tried orienteering once on a school trip and all I remember is having to follow other people. I never knew it was a competitive event like how you describe and always thought it more an occasional charity sort of thing.

I must tell ,I mentioned that my son is coming over on Tuesday evening ,I looked for the flight no. to find it is tonight he arrives !!!! I really was smarter when I was younger but may be not as lucky !
So pleased Matt is coming over to see you Blue. But be careful. If there are daily flights they may have the same flight number. So he may still be turning up tomorrow.

Good morning all, hope you're all well.

Still relatively headache free so happy with that, had one yesterday but it never got to excruciating and was caused by a knot in my shoulder. That was the first big test as when my shoulder goes then my headaches are painful, so for it too not get that bad is a huge relief.

My brother in law has the same condition and my sister said he was put on pregabalin but said he was out of it high so had to come off them. I would have persevered personally as you get used to them after a while and don't get high. I used to be on pregabalin and gabapentin plus zomorph(slow release morphine) pre 2017 before I made the daft decision to stop all meds and I was never high. Now I'm back on gabapentin and I don't get high either.

Speak soon take care and have a good day.
