It feels like that Bournemouth game and some of the interviews in the past week have given the recruitment team an almighty kick up the buttocks. We seem to have woken up a tad to the urgency of the situation.

All speculation so far.

No new players by Friday and Moyes will go into Michael Douglas ‘Falling Down’ mode.

I agree. He decent mid level player. Would start at right back and also gives us cover in midfield. Would allow to spend more on other areas.

Thought AMN did well last year whenever I watched him, but his stats were genuinely impressive vs top 5 leagues.

How much did he play in CM? Could these stats be skewed by that?

Maitland Niles is all sorts of average. I just don't see what he would give us that we don't already have.

He’s an actual right back and he also gives us cover in midfield. He’s a decent squad player if nothing else.

Yeah I just don’t really think he’s the answer as a right back to be honest. He’s maybe an upgrade on Patterson but not someone you want to become our first choice there for the next few years. He’s not a terrible player by any means but signings like that won’t get us very far.

Was I? I think you might have me mixed up with someone else, unless saying something like ‘I can see why people are concerned’ counts as bedwetting now. Also probably worth pointing out that thinking we need some new players and think we just need any new players aren’t actually the same thing, seeing as some people don’t seem to be able to work that out for themselves.

Just looked it up. 4 games in midfield. 3 on the right side of midfield and one in the centre. 29 as RB and 1 as LB.

100%, the issue is he’s a known quantity because people have seen him play at Arsenal and people know he isn’t going to come in and develop into prime Coleman. He’s a decent experienced player who gives us much needed cover. He’s a much higher level player than all of our current rights backs, he’s a better player than Myko and he’s probably better in midfield than Garner. Some of the 8/9 players we need need to be solid budget players who can do a job in a few positions.
