Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

This the same xhaka that stank the gaff out at arsenal?
He didn’t he had some issue with the fans and a few brain farts. I can’t remember if it was the World Cup or the Euros but he was one of the best midfielders in that tournament and absolutely schooled the England midfield. He’s a very talented player and would be our best midfielder by a mile assuming his legs still work.

The same one that's been at the heart of an amazing Leverkusen side then yes it is

So what he's 33 and lets not go over the top about leverkuson they had one good season and they got smashed in the Europa league final by one of our rejects.

And they did sod all last season. Didnt even come close to the league and got absolutely decimated in the CL.

Xhaka deal is a strange one. You’d think he’d have better offers than Sunderland even in the prem, could have seen someone like Fulham or West Ham go for him, even United. Nothing even from Saudi.
Sunderland are a big club in all fairness, bit like us they've been chronically mismanaged so have potential to go up the ladder with the right leadership

He’s 32. And we have just given a 35 year old a new deal. And a 36 year old.
Don’t get me wrong - I think he’s a quality player, could be a masterstroke for Sunderland. If we hadn’t resigned Gana I’d have been all for it, although I reckon his wages probably way more than gana’s.

Desperate in that midfield area though - his skillset would have been perfect for us a la Gareth Barry back in the day.

He’s 32. And as for him ‘stinking the gaff out’ at Arsenal, i’ll add that to your list of dreadful football takes.

Made almost 300 appearances and captained Arsenal, also almost 100 appearances for Leverkusen in a team which bumped Munich off the top for the first time in a decade.

Oh and also finished 16th in Ballon d'Or rankings for 2024...

Yes that one.

Then why did arsenal sell him for less then two thirds of what they bought him for, why are leverkuson selling him and why is he only going to so a side thats going to get smashed back down into the championship in 10 months if hes so good?

And the ballon dor is a load of tommy tank.

He didn't like, they loved him there for the last couple of years he was there and then he's been very good at Leverkusen. I know loads of hardcore Arsenal fans, a fair few of them are disappointed they haven't tried to bring him back.

I watched him and he was bloody awful.

Whats a hardcore arsenal fan?

Ive got some mates who are arsenal sth and they thought he was gack. Hence why they sold him at a loss.

I went back and watched the club interview with Moyes after the Bournemouth friendly. He did not look flustered or distressed as some people on here stated. He was very calm and accepting of the situation, while just emphasizing that significant recruitment is still needed but didn't look panicked . He also looked like a 60 year old man who spent two hours getting baked in 80 degree Fahrenheit weather 😂
I wish someone would give him a training top that wasn't as 'clingy'.....needs a more 'relaxed' fit, especially around all these athletes
