2024/25 David Moyes

Moyes saying we should be a lot further down the line and the CEO saying we are “on track”. Which one is it? What’s actually going on at this club, it seems completely dysfunctional.
I don’t think Moyes will be here that long,
Think they will target a better manager in a year or two like they’ve done at Roma. Moyes being our Ranieri and steadying the ship

The ship isn’t steady at the minute so let’s hope it is by the end of this season. The fact we seemingly only started planning for this transfer window at the end of May is alarming to me. Probably why our list of targets is absolutely all over the place and players like Dibling and Fofana seem to be getting added to it in the last few weeks.

Can't help but feel the manager is being let down by the recruitment team

I never felt comfortable with bringing in so many new recruitment staff, (some of them haven't started yet), ahead of such an important summer. I don't see that there is any strategy at play here. if there is one, then it's clearly not working. You would think we would have things lined up when we knew we would be losing up to 10 first team players, but it's been just like every other recent season.

I think it's fair to ask what is going on and why is there no urgency to help the manager.

I'd say we are in a very unsteady position right now with this squad. As we've seen at the weekend, even two injuries and we are in enormous trouble. This squad cannot compete in this league and would get relegated unless we were incredibly lucky with injuries - like unprecedentedly lucky.

Bit like us trying to target better players in this transfer window now - why would they come? West Ham also tried to play that game of getting a better manager than Moyes and it doesn't seem to be going too well.

I believe he's been talking about the pitch getting dug up again at BMD.

Ha ha ha ha.

FFS.

Walter Smith levels of desperation.

What a palaver.
Will have to dig out the interview but someone was talking about issues with the pitch after the Port Vale game. Got a feeling it was a Garner interview, there was no mention of digging it up again, but there there definitely a suggestion it could be improved.

Hard to see how it can be improved if they dont just dig it up and re-turf rather than re-grow.

Sounds like a pathetic Walteresque excuse to me.

Well I think that was always going to happen, With Hammond not been here long and the 2 guys we’ve got from city and Utd can’t join till September. And Thelwell was still here in march.

The rumour is the club have tried to stick to their main targets and are hoping things fall into place. Like we could have got Andringa from Brighton and under moshiri we may have panicked and just gone for him, but he wasn’t a target.

Can we get our targets in? Well it’s looking like it’s going to be tough, but I’d rather the club stuck to their guns. There will be a point though when maybe they will have to change tactics

I think that point is now if I’m honest.

Well West Ham are in a tricky spot, because they’ve wasted a fortune in the last 5yrs and a lot of that was on Moyes. I’d expect our owners and recruitment team to be better that the dildo brothers
