A lot of the angst around this window is due to lack of evidence of the new transfer teams competence., and Evertonians tending to skew to the pessimistic. It appears beneath the diplomatic facade the manager is getting a bit tetchy and all.

You'd think to control the narrative a bit and take some pressure off they'd go get some low hanging fruit.

For example if Tom Fellows is right winger number 2 and an easier deal go get him whilst your being patient on the more tricky targets

Don't think actually there's any interest in Fellows mate, I think that was a Thelwell want

We’re desperate for an injection of quality in central midfield. We get overrun in the middle of the park in just about every game we play. It’s such an important area of the team and it needs addressing and sharpish.

Been saying we need 2 CM’s all summer, apparently we’ve got 5 midfielders on paper though so it’s not a priority area.

Need two at least mate, Tims not good enough, Armstrong is too young, Doucoure left, Mangala left, basically leaves us with a 36yo Gueye and Jimmy G, with Alcaraz at a push a third option - but one Moyes I don't think likes there.

I'd say we need 2 plus another who may be able to cover there also.

Given the comments on extending Gueye I honestly think Moyes would love to upgrade both him and Garner this summer.

Trying to think back but don't think Moyes midfield when first here ever had an outright defensive midfielder really unless my memory is playing tricks. Maybe Fellaini was the closest....

This is the critical week to 10 day period. Things will look a lot better by the Roma game, or it will be more of the same.

Side note btw, Eduardo Bove is pretty much medically cleared to return after passing all tests. For a free as he can't play in Italy again, wouldn't mind us doing that as a very low cost punt with a possibly great upside

I’m not sure our recruitment team are aware we’re allowed to sign free agents.

His contracts still held by Roma but with TFG owning both and him unable to play in Italy again due to their laws. It's one I do see us doing mate.

If he returns at the same level he was playing at last season before the incident, then he'd be a fantastic addition.

From.mrnory a lot of his games last season came on the right as well - versatile player.

i wonder if / when we will do a deal with Roma. Remember under Lampard each window we were linked with many Chelsea players and thought playing under Lampard would be a lure for them, i think we signed none of them lol

Just listened to that Angus Kinnear interview on EvertonTV- made some pretty big promises about the rest of the window.

On that basis I’m expecting news of more bids in the next few days and Plan Bs to be approached if Fofana, Luiz & Kubo etc ain’t happening.
