2024/25 Nathan Patterson

…..still can’t get my head around what he actually did, it was beyond poor defending it was more what you do playing football with your kids to let them score a goal.

I’ve been accused of having an agenda against him from watching his first 6 games or so but it was clear to me he struggles with basics and will always be prone to serious lapses of judgement. Glad posters are finally realising why he’s struggled for games, why managers tend not to select him and why there doesn’t appear to be other clubs wanting to buy him or even take him on loan.
Pretty sure I can't be accused for having agenda, no more excuses now, that was awful defending for the goal, experienced PremierLeague player and he got proper minced.

I was frustrated at times why Ashley Young (who was average mostly) started over him mostly, but the more I see him on the pitch, the more I understand.
Not sure why you’d ever be frustrated why Young started over Patterson, it’s blatantly obvious one is a top professional who’s had a great career and the other has looked very very average and that’s being kind. Could see the first few games he was lacking but was only young but still miles off it terrible signing tbh but the kind we should be taking a chance on but was plain to see he wasn’t up to it, then the whole Patterson chat went silly and people wanted him to do well just to say see I reckon some will still say give him a chance but deep down know he’s poo

How did he over analyse it? Seems like a very short factual analysis.
Analysing any part of a pre-season game is over analysis. I remember making the same mistake with Kieran Dowell after he scored a couple of blammos in a Koeman pre-season thinking he'd made it and he never played a minute for us when the real stuff happened. There's this agenda on here against Patterson which I dislike as everything he does wrong is treated like a 'yay I told you he was crap' It's almost like the fans are happy when he makes mistakes even in a meaningless fixture

Sad but true mate. Seems a lot of fans are delighted when he cocks up. Often he hasn’t helped himself, but it’s over the top.

Other players can make mistakes and nothing is said at all, even though all players make mistakes.

Young made some horrendous mistakes and cost us goals but people were acting like he was the second coming of Cafu.

Keane has thrown away goals and points but people were happy we re-signed him even though we all know he’s a total shithouse car crash awful cb.

Patterson is criticised and piled on every single appearance, even when he hasn’t had a bad game.

Best for him and Everton if he moves on now imo, let’s try for another specialist rb. Get aznou over the line and at least there’s another option in the meantime.
