Everton Ticketing Changes

For me asking fans to pay to watch meaningless pre season game was final straw for me. I think club are playing dangerous game tbh, if it wasnt our last season at GP, I doubt you would have had same demand last season. I think club will regret it in long run, Arsenal and City struggled to fill their grounds once novelty wore off.

Arsenal have never struggled to fill the Emirates

I know they get loads of stick but If you check the official stats then city’s average premier league attendance is about 7k more than when they moved in. It’s has also never been more than about 500 above what it was last year .

I get that the not being able to choose your seat is different to last year and for many that is rubbish.

And I may be about to chat wham but ….

My impression is that the lottery system is the same as last year but less pressurised and easier to take part in. I am a STH so wasn’t involved but my reading of the situation was, people phoned up and were allocated a random position in a queue, (I think there was lots of moaning about this in the threads last year). They then got to the front and could buy a ticket based on this random allocation of a position in a queue or they were sold out. The lottery being suggested is still just the random allocation of people in a queue. You just get a longer window to join the queue.

If I am wrong about what happened in the old system then ignore this post!

That’s all correct, accept to buy online you didn’t phone up to be allocated a position in the queue, you had to log on to the website between 9am and 10am, then at 10am you were issued a randomised position in the queue. At which point for many, after waiting to be granted access to the website, all the tickets had been sold. Hence the frustration you talk about reading on here and elsewhere.

Those who had to rely on the phone service (due to lack of internet access etc) faired even worse by the time they had got to the front of the phone queue.

Apologies if this has already been asked, had a look through the thread but couldn’t find anything. Does anyone know roughly how many tickets will be in the ballot tomorrow and how many memberships there are that qualify for it?

What if we supported our own on here through the ticketing section i.e any season ticket holders unable to go transfer the ticket across to the recipient through the ticket portal, or do they have to be a forever plus member? Just thinking of ways we can maybe help members of the forum.

Random question but does anyone know how you link different memberships for the ballot tomorrow? Is it when you go into the ballot or do you need to link them beforehand?

This sounds like a brilliant idea. Based on what I saw last season, a lot of people didn't use the options available when they couldn't go, leading to empty seats. Perhaps down to it being a bit complicated or not knowing people who were members.

My big thing is that if you're willing to leave the seat empty, a free transfer to someone who's desperate to go is a pretty fair thing to ask, though at the point where it was impossible to get tickets then just using the resale system would've been helpful for the rest of us who were willing to pay but there were just simply no tickets
