He'd be a decent backup CM. That's what he should be as well IMO.

So, who are the current realistic signing options for a right back? Very few names being bandied about.

These are realistic in the sense they might be gettable though none are exciting: Coufal*, Celik from Roma on loan, Yukinari Sugawara, James Justin, Davide Calabria*, Takehiro Tomiyasu*, Nelson Semedo*

Hopefully the club have an eye on some other bargain most of us have never heard about.

The Transfer Window has 2 or 3 main objectives:

1. Allow the Sly 6 to bag whomever they want without any PSR or financial fair play restriction at all. They can tap up anyone they want without recourse;
2. Remove any really good players from the rest of the teams and have them sat on the benches of the Sly 6;
3. Leave only journeymen, Sly 6 cast-offs and 2nd rate foreign players for the rest to scramble over on the last few hours before it slams shut.

It works perfectly in meeting those 3 objectives.
To think otherwise is folly.
