One theory I guess is that Liverpool like him and want to see how he develops but are talking 2-3 years down the line and he wants the move right now.

I don't think there is much likelihood of this lad signing, if he does, cool, I'll be delighted and amazed, if he doesn't... I'm ok with it, I've never really believed he'd come here.

In a normal world Lyon would not be selling him, would hold on and let his value appreciate and they’d hope he’d be sold to a CL club. But he’s at least 1-2 years from that which is where we might be able to come in.
