Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

It is alright everyone saying we should of signed player x in June, but I guess how this really works is that the payer/club come to a decision at the end of the season that the player, if still in contract, can move. They then both look for the best deal.

Everton ,current, can only offer so much to the club & player. The window closes end of August, so it is a bit of a waiting game for the best offer.

If you are Real or the R/S, it is pretty much straight up the best offer for the player so it’s about agreeing with the club a value, so this deal can be done early. We are currently not one of those clubs.

Taking Forfana, he is trying to get CL football. As the clock ticks through July and August then decisions need to be made.

Everton may stay the best offer and he signs, but it is a little bit of playing chicken as to how long he waits. Remember the mainland European leagues kick off later than us so August 18 isn’t set in stone for the player.

If Everton now start to go after lesser players, we then become their best offer and they probably sign quicker. For all the all the howls we had very little leverage, in June, to be the best offer for the players we were, and hopefully, still are chasing.

We will have the numbers in by the end of August, earlier if we aim, lower.

The curious thing for me is why did we agree to play in this USA cup when we pretty much knew what shape the squad would be in (terrible). I guess it was new Yankee owners hoping to get in the American market.

We did get a bit embarrassed last night, think Moysie felt it, and if I was a Yankee neutral I would be a lot more interested in following how Bournemouth get on trying to better last years finish than Everton.

It is a rebuild and it will take time. We might have to tough it out a bit to get the quality rather than pad out with players we regret signing in October.

Just have a strange feeling Moyes will keep Armstrong, especially if Iroegbunam goes on loan. He loves a player to have had championship experience which Armstrong has and Moyes normally likes a young player or two around the first team squad to develop gradually. He’s effectively now where Coleman and Osman were after their loans to Blackpool and Derby. He might well be used from the bench to start getting premier league minutes.
Tim has more championship experience than Harrison tho.

I really have a feeling that Luiz sand Fofana wont be coming here!

Hopefully we dont struggle to get players in that are actually decent!

*Jack Harrison patiently sits by the phone*

Moyes likes getting the auld band back together.

I fully expect Harrison, Doucs and DCL to be back in the fould come 1st September.

If that is the case and there's no evidence to support that (or ever likely to be) I'd rather move on to another target. The way we do transfers we can't be hanging around for weeks on end to see if he gets a better offer or not. F-that for a game of soldiers. You can do that if you have a fully functioning squad that only needs 1/2 players. We don't. And that doesn't mean either we go on a mad trolley dash.

Theres more evidence hes intrested in us then not.

But you're just choosing to listen to one random journalist (whos proven to get alot wrong). Over the many other reliable journalists who are saying were in the process of sorting a deal out and are talking to his camp.
