Who is to blame for the lack of new signings?

Why do we have a lack of new signings?

I doubt that any single party is entirely to blame for our lack of transfer business, but nobody can say for sure without knowing the inner workings of the club. Following Moyes' comments, I am confident that our business will pick up pace over the next couple of weeks leading up to the Roma friendly, starting with Aznou.
I said that the other day: we may very well see some deals before the Roma game. I don't know if the owners are in town for that, but if they are I'd imagine they'd like to be greeted as conquering heroes rather than by @davek 's pitchfork mob.

I think we'll have a couple in by then.

I don't know why we need to assign blame? Transfers can take time.. this isnt football manager where you click a few buttons and its done. Some deals have loads of moving parts (agents, other clubs, players preferences, ffp, etc).

We could maybe speed things up by paying over the odds - but then people would complain about us wasting money or being taken for a ride. We could lower the quality of target just to get people in quickly but then there would be complaints that we are buying players who aren't good enough.

Sometimes patience is part of getting the right deal.

Normally it is not a good look for a manager to be airing grievances about a lack of transfer business, so that alone should be enough to get the ball rolling. Looking over at Roma, Gian Piero Gasperini made comments about their window being less than ideal and within a week of those comments they had signed Neil El Aynaoui and Evan Ferguson.

Could be a combination of the first two, though certainly wouldnt assume that TFG wouldnt be willing to provide the funds as that just would be daft and doesnt make sense..

Ultimately - I think we've just been pretty resolute in our position up until now that we only want quality/promise through the door but obviously that isn't going to be easy given our current standing..

The Owners

Everything that is done, or not done, at the club is down to decisions made by people the owners appointed working within a structure ultimately set by the owners.

Personally though I think praise or criticism at the back end of July during their first summer window is a touch premature.

Massively concerned as I dont think the squad has ever been so bad, or at least for many many years. Years of bad management has left the playing squad in limbo. We need players and not sure how many we can get through the door by the end of the window. It seems to be taking a age for any new players we buy. I know that closer to deadline day or on even on deadline day you can easily get a couple through the door, but those tend to be squad fillers, not really starting 11 quality.

There is cause for concern. The squad is paper thin and the glaring right back problem is still there. I imagine we will end up with squad fillers like Soucek, Coufal. We need players who will walk into the first team. Is Aznou one of them?
