Quiet on Mcatee full stop mate actually. Only a few days ago a mention he's only looking at a premier League move knocked back a move abroad.

At the moment we've not signed anyone that will affect the first team straight away.

This really, players like Regullion are still only 28 and free, obviously not a world beater but better than what we currently have at full back.

Not fully wetting the bed yet, but last night really highlighted how badly we need bodies through the door.

Frees could have been done provided we didn’t play too much hardball on wages. Loans of young players from very strong clubs could get done early as it’s in everyone benefit. Crumb of comfort is that many decent loans of more experienced players might only happen toward the end as their clubs hang on for an outright sale before resorting to loan.

This super thin squad certainly can’t go into the Roma game. Be a bit embarrassing as the stadium curtain raiser to have 5 players out of position.

We need players in but we’re not getting any other CBs in…we have a more balanced squad last night if just one of the three was available, and they all seem close. With just one more we don’t have the nonsense with Patterson at CB, McNeil and Garner at wing back….

The 2nd half did bluntly highlight that we have little depth in certain areas and we’re still desperate for a RB. That there are no RB rumors out there at the moment is very disheartening.

I think people have a right to be aggrieved, we're very short but we were promised a new beginning, a fresh start, we finally got rid of 99% of the overpaid useless lot and the club got us excited for a host of new players and they're doing the usual Everton thing of not living up to expectations that they set themselves.

Disappointing so far but still time, as much as we don't want to hear that.
