Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Contact the agent.

Thats it. Contact the agent.

Ask him to check with the club what they would accept & ask the player if hes interested.

Conceicao? Fofana?
šŸ˜‚ Absolutely clueless. Every single agent in the world is going to say yes, he'd love to join make a bid and let's agree the wage packet. What is the downside from their perspective to doing so? Either the player says yes and then all good for the agent's fee or the player says no and our bid might flush out other bidders/get them to improve their offer. Have you never been involved in an auction process before? You want as many interested parties as possible to stay in for as long as possible. Even the player could lead us down the garden path to keep his options open. Newsflash for you, human being mislead each other and aren't always honest.šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

I’ve got absolutely no doubt we have contacted the agent, that’s how these work. As I said, I would imagine it’s a case of him preferring a move elsewhere if it materialises but being aware that it might not and so listening to what we have to say. Even the tweet from tavolieri says he has ā€˜other plans’ not ā€˜no interest’, the 2 are very different things.
An agent’s job is to protect his clients interests so I guess he’ll be wanting to keep options open. It’s not surprising really.

I get the stress around us not having signed all our targets, but the reasons for that have been documented by the club in the last few days. For to long Everton have bought badly and it seems there’s a change in strategy, in that we are seemingly all out for our top targets.

For to long there was no strategy, no direction and no team in place. I get the need for signings and the need for fans to see it happen quickly but patience is required if they haven’t done what they said come close if window then it’s time to panic.

Change isn’t coming over night. But it has to start at the top and start now, only then can things really change in the long term. I’m sure this won’t be a popular opinion and time will tell if this change is long lasting, but this feels different than the last few years. Just hopefully different in a better way!
What if the strategy is delusional?

They knew the issues and the number of players who were leaving the club.

To leave it this late is pretty poor planning. Turning up to a pre season tour of the USA with a load of kids isn’t a good look as well.

We had 2 GK’s on the bench again and 5 kids.

Despite my original optimism it’s all starting to look a bit familiar.

Hope I’m wrong of course, but that was a bit of a reality check. Bournemouth were able to make changes and bring on players they will use in their squad this year.
SEASON STARTS IN 3 week

Players need to integrate with team mates, learn the tactics, formations etc. To need as many players as we do and be so close to the start of the season is not good enough.
Clearly we need to make our transfer kitty work and get the best quality of player we can, but, a team like ours really needs to be identifying the players that the top teams haven't discovered yet.
Either we get 4 loans and spend budget on 2 quality players. Or drop the expectations, and buy about 4 lesser known players (like Fellows) and get a couple of loans in.
