Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

I would imagine he’s interested, otherwise things wouldn’t have got this far. No doubt he’d rather go to someone better than us if the opportunity is there - as you’d expect - but if we’re the best offer he gets then he’d be happy to come here. All very normal really.
Maybe it's a case that his club has set a high price and Everton are closer to matching that. He may well prefer to go to a Champions League club but perhaps those clubs don't like the price... yet. Could be completely wrong about that, of course.

A squad of 20 players and 3 of them are goalkeepers, Bloody hell talk about down to the bare bones

This is why we aren’t buying players. We are clearly aiming too high.
There is a PL experienced, over 25 year old, right winger available in Yorkshire who we could sign today if we went for him, probably for sub £10m.
Fits the exact narrative Moyes wants.
Oh hang on…
Doesn’t score goals doesn’t provide assists and wouldn’t improve us

Pickford? That was very telling. Both he and Moyes came out last night publicly bemoaning the size of the squad and that wouldn’t have gone unnoticed. For all the “we’re not going to make mistakes in the market” stuff from Kinnear yesterday, the pressure is mounting on them to get deals over the line.

I think we’ve reached the point now where for all the reasonable stance they’re taking on not spending more than they need to and negotiating hard to get deals for good fees, the realisation must be hitting that they’re just gonna have to pay a little more than they’d ideally like to to get these deals done.

Think we’ll see positive movement in the next 24/48 hours partly due to the pressure applied by first manager, and now players to get a move on!
We are going to need some squad players too. I'm baffled we haven't brought in any loans or free transfer signings

We appear to be going after ‘really good players’ who are holding out for better. I’m quite convinced that this is not the best transfer strategy given where we have been as a club. It will be interesting if rumours are to be believed, who of Luiz and Fofana joins, I doubt either but we shall see. Cut your cloth accordingly in terms of your targets so we get them in early and they improve us. I do wonder how much impact Moyes is having given the newly created recruitment team and how much of it is being driven by the fact he only had two years here.
Does feel like they've come in all guns blazing. We'll get ALL the boss players AND only pay what we think.

There will have to be an adjustment based on our position as a club i.e. not at the top of the food chain atm

Option a) pay more

Option b) go down your list to the next option

It probably needs to be on a case by case basis.

Remember the Giroud, Witsel and Mata summer where the deals were close to done but the players ultimately held out for a better CL opportunity?
It’s always the risk when we’re trying to get good players in. No European footy to offer and a recent track record of being a bin fire of a club. Can’t change perceptions overnight and we don’t have the ability to offer insane fees and wages like City did when they first got in the money.

I’m sure we’ll sign players but might not be the top tier targets Moyes wants.
