Transfer Rumour Malick Fofana

Personally I’d rather know he definitely wants to come before we even engage about a fee like most other clubs do.

Thats the critical point.

We can all say its a great target and we (potentially) agree a fee with the club.

But if the player refuses the move, it will be seen as incompetence.

Let them meet the price then. We should be trying to save money on all our deals like we did with Barry. You don’t just give the selling club everything they want.
I agree. Just we've seen this before. Hopefully we can get him, but if not I'm very interested to see what happens with that £30m that's been earmarked for right wing. Jack Harrison on loan?

I also think that that's a weak excuse to slag the club. Forrest has an agreement on a fee - didn't see a host of clubs jumping in to gazump them when they did.

The club obviously feels that we have e room and time to negotiate, if they're correct will be shown.

But if we start getting first bids accepted I can guarantee we are screwing ourselves up big time as one thing which will wreck any chance of us progressing and maintaining it, is just paying whatever a club quotes at first time of asking.

Outside of a buyout clause which is too low, only very very badly ran teams would do that.

Anything I’ve seen mate, he’s 100% a left winger.
An article in the Echo has a quote from Fofana in which he says he prefers the left but played more on the right at Gent. Either way, would be good to get talent in and then figure it out I suppose. In a perfect world however would be great to get a pure right winger in who both prefers the right side, has played there and has been productive on the right.

Not for me.

He’s better when he has the space to cut in centrally, think he would be crowded out playing there full time. Would have less space to dribble into.

All imo of course

Tbf he had less space because we had two out of McNeil, harrison or alcaraz playing on the wings.

Two actual wingers that stretch the opposition will give him lots more space in the middle.

Everyone gets so hung up on LW, RW, Inverted wingers - It’s just not that important. Left footed, right footed, etc…it’s a tactical setup and can be adjusted for

Get talent in. That can take on defenders on the front foot. Period
So which is he? Left, right or front footed?

Keeps happening...being played by agents to get the move their clients wants. It's beyond amateurish at this point that it keeps happening time and time again. We need capable and competent people working on our recruitment...they are looking far from it.
