Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Being humiliated in the window with the manager seemingly hung out to dry by the board.

Why are we continually a shambles in the transfer market? I thought the club had brought in people to change this?
We have but 1-2 members are on leave from other clubs before they start added to the fact there’s a lot that we don’t know going on, take the two transfer stories that broke this aft, we’d only vaguely been linked earlier in the window and suddenly ones agreed pending medical and the other we’re in talks for having had one bid rejected

Preseason means nothing and there will obviously be issues when you need to roll out a completely different system and lineup for the first time due to injuries. But yeah. We definitely need to get some of those names we keep hearing in. Depth and competition will prevent us from having to throw a makeshift lineup out there if things go tits up which is a likely possibility with AFCON and injury luck.

Absolutely.

The owners won't be in a position to talk ambition if they don't back the manager.

If I were Moyes, I wouldn't be worried that they won't back him. I'd be more worried that they'll back him too late. They'll be able to point to ambition, but he won't have the time to bed the new players in.
Bed the new players in, it such made up rubbish it really is, these are professional players who are use to moving to new teams

Nah, don't agree. Everybody needs time to adjust to a new environment, patterns of play, tactics, team-mates, way of life, etc.

It's obviously an advantage for teams to have played together and understand each other.

So if you’re a player we’re trying to convince to come to the club, how does a performance like that make you feel? Great that you will walk into the team or concerned about going to a club that could clearly struggle?
I hear all the new players the RS have signed have handed in transfer requests after they lost.

Preseason results are meaningless.

When you have a good pre-season it's 'we can take this confidence and momentum into the new season and get a good start'.
When you have a poor pre-season it's 'it doesn't matter, it's not about results, its just about fitness'.

We had a preseason under Moyes where we lost every game and finished 4, we had preseason where we won loads of games and finished bottom half

Moyes said in his press conference that we've been targeting senior 25+ players with pl experience as well as the young players. He wants a mix. Also said AFCON is a problem and impacts decisions on buying players

Didn’t take pedro long at Chelsea, players now a days know the style that’s why they are bought, it’s not like the old days
