We'd have to play a back 5 but suppose it could still be be a fluid one but don't think that would work with Myko then. Extra CB needed in squad then too. More + than - though

I'll bite. Garner could be really good with O'Brien, might make it very difficult to get down that side with Garner sweeping up around big Jake. And probably both have the smarts to work a way up a wing and put in crosses, with the speciality of long range passes through the lines.
With Garner more likely to tuck in the key signings would be LB and RF. LB would want to be getting up more an in the attacking play - Myko would not be th eideal player for this. So no, New signings please.prettiest please

Agree. i know there are no strong links either way and I am slightly in the camp of we need cover/competition for Myko anyway, so tbh that would potentially solve 2 issues for us. I'd have to watch the games back but pretty sure Jimmy did ok at RWB for us his short stint in 22/23..

Yup. I get that we can't clear everyone out at once, but nobody needs to pretend any of the above are any cop in a serious team.

If this window goes as it should, he should get a handful of starts and plenty of sub appearances this season, then be a marquee signing for newly promoted Coventry next summer.

You mean the makeshift back four? or you talking about Tarks and Branths also. I agree with Patterson, we can improve on Myko but I believe Tarks, Branths and Jake are sound.

Garner has become a non entity and I have more optimism with Tim than Garner
