Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Our boy Ross has, sadly, lost the plot now, off to get sectioned, RIP.

Of course. The best teams do this

I'm not saying we keep everyone all the time, and I accept that we will always be willing to sell even our best players when the circumstances are right

I just think that, aside from Pickford, we have been willing to sell every single one of our best players, without much hesitation, and for too long. I actually can't think of a single player of quality who we've kept for a good amount of time

Which I think explains a lot

….the other factor in this, is if players want to leave they normally leave. Power is with players these days, especially in the modern game.

It’s not so much Everton selling players to certain clubs we want to stop, it’s players wanting to leave for certain clubs.

I mean did the club have any choice in the matter? We have been up against PSR for nearly 4 years.

You still haven't said which deals you're talking about here. How many are you upset that we sold?

I can't think of a single player of quality who we've sold before their time should have ended with us besides Richie .
Did you not see my previous response?
To summarise, I) I said you'd say this; II) I said that with a better vision (which in my mind includes transfer, wage, financial strategy) we could have retained some of these players (including by avoiding PSR implications) and; III) I said that I CBA to get into a playground back and forth where I name one player and you say no.

Psh

A few staropraemen deep.. thinking too much.. or maybe not enough..
Bobble said we bid £31.5 m and it was rejected, yet his MO is ‘I don’t talk until a deal is done’.. so, why would he mention that? Feels like a ‘we tried’ narrative?..
Odd.

Mate you're having a whinge over us losing our best players under Moshiri and you haven't named a single one you were upset about us losing. I think you're just having a moan tbh.

Who are you upset that we had to sell under Moshiri? It's not like we sold loads we didn't want to sell and everyone knows why we had to.

Because a few other journos ran with it and he didn’t want to make it look like he weren’t in the loop.

Excellent choice of beverage btw.

I don't disagree with you lid.

And I'm saying I'd rather we'd have kept a few of them, at least got longer. Think we can both be right there
You're saying if we werent utter crap for the last 25 years we might have kept some of them, I dunno, like who? If Onana didnt join Villa im sure he would have gone elsewhere, same with Richy, Lukaku.

But we kept Branners, so who knows, maybe things might get better.

Actually I was originally celebrating the Branthwaite deal before you went on some pedantic nit picking crusade, all because I said that I thought it was a welcome departure from the past

Digne, Richy, Gordon, Onana, Rodriguez, Stekelenburg, Bolassie, Sandro, all shipped too soon

I'm saying that if we'd kept some of them we might not have been as crap, so maybe we might have then been keeping more

It's both a vicious and virtuous circle.

If you're consistently willing to sell every one of your best players then you'll go nowhere

We're not Brighton fgs, we can't be happy with simply staying in the Premier League
