Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Be wary.

I'm told their forces are sharpening sabres and stocking up on black and white powder in anticipation of a Bournemouth victory launching a cannon ball through the sales of HMS DrySheets.

Most players are astute enough to have long term plans to this end

So long as he gives us his all when/if he's here I don't mind

And if we can demonstrate real ambition and progress whilst he is here who knows, maybe he and others like him will stick around

Agree.

Richy crocked himself busting a gut for us. He was never a top rier quality but deserved to play in Europe.

Forced sale with him maybe, but I would not have begrudged him if he'd wanted to go sooner.

We need the quality now, no problem if they are here 18mths to 2 years max doing well, then make the sale to a scab or a big gun in Europe profit and reinvest, rinse repeat, whilst keeping a core of players essential to any squad.

This is key, for too long we've been comfortable being the stepping stone and that's it: happy to sell our best players because that's the 'business model'

The Branthwaite contract is for me the best bit of business we've done this window on that basis

Shows that we are serious about improving our position and not happy with permanent mid table mediocrity and being a top 6 finishing school

Only because I didn’t see it , word play should always be celebrated.
I miss the current events zone, it was a shooting gallery executed with howitzers. Ok it got a bit heated and serious at times but because of the scope of coverage it meant there were funnies galore.
Anyway, how underhand by Moyes, take the squad to the u.s. and leave covert operatives in the field snagging some potential quality talent.

This is what Atletico did for years

Definitely with Branthwaite.

Majority grasp the significance of the contract whilst also appreciating the goal is to make a massive profit with him between 1 amd 3 years down the line, unless our or his priorities change. It sets a precedent that transfers of our better players will be on our own terms, which is only one part of the wider strategy. The multilayer plans (and yes plans can be broken/changed) is not really what the average fan should be concerned with. The acid test is that most of this goes on in the background with little fanfare and the onfield stuff looks after itself.

Maybe a little over simplified on my part and there will be a drama or 2 ro come but more + than - for me.
