New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

I don't mind him. He is who he is and it's down to the recipient to decide how they receive the stuff he says. Everyone has & is entitled to thier opinion which can be debated but I'll call out the BS when it needs doing.
Yes, for sure, when he chats wham, which is most posts, he simply must be corrected by those that wish to.

I mean everybody else should ignore him.

When Dave went missing for those few months a while back I was genuinely concerned for a guy I have never met. Made him more human to me. Don't get me wrong I fully understand where most of the forum are coming from & get it but we're all just fellow blues at the end of the day. A proper knob at times but still one of us. I don't & will never put anyone on ignore.

I have hundreds of them on ignore, I really cant tolerate massive bellends, its to Daves credit that I have never once put him on ignore.

The ambulance chasers you refer to are actually legal advisors FOR the NHS. So the complete opposite of ambulance chasers. You don't have to like them or like that they sponsor our new ground but at least do a little research before giving them the classic Davek derogatory name. Makes you look silly.

I'm not sure fighting cases for hospital trusts against patients and against health care unions is a feather in their cap, tbh.

But it was the size of the business I was referring to in any case and the incongruent tie up with us in terms of brand recognition.

I know Dave but it's an unwinnable argument. They are either for the NHS or for the patient. Either way someone is on the wrong end of it & the NHS need to have legal representation. It's hardly the biggest face palm we could make as a sponsor.
As for thier size, it is what it is. Not much we can do about it now except try to grow with them.

I think their numbers are actually quite impressive, they have a turnover of circa £150m but a profit of circa £50m (around 30% profit), they can easily splaff £10m of that profit on some great advertising.

I work for a multi billion pound company and our profit margin is in the region of 3-5%, not 30%.

We needed to get cash + exposure from a sponsorship deal. We got cash...and really the 'details' on that look far fetched.

I think the vast majority of people were disappointed (and remain so) about the deal the club struck.

Hard for a mere mortal like myself to know how big they are in thier world or how big they can get but if they feel they can afford it then fair play to them. We can all argue until the cows come home over is it really 10 mill or actually half that with performance related stuff on top. Also how much of it is effected by recent legal costs which I heard play a factor in the true amount. Either way, it's who we've got now. Would rather wish them the best than moan about it anymore.

I will admit to being a little underwhelmed too at first glance. The kid in me didn't like the word Dick either. Exposure, yeah a world household name would have had more impact for sure.
As for needing cash, we have no idea what was on the table from others. This may have been the best deal. Remember, all sponsorship deals have a top line figure if all targets are met. The reality is somewhat different. Only the absolute elite clubs can get the big big deals as they will always end up going far in the Champions League etc. The rest of us have performance clauses that reflect our current standing.

Would you rather have taken less money (whatever than number actually is) to have a household name for image sake or gone with the best (if it indeed was) on paper financial deal?
