Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Other clubs have deals lined up before the window even opens. That's what I hoped to see this year given the amount of work we need, and the fact we have new owners. It is absolutely more of the same so far this year. No organised and successful club looks to do most of their transfer dealings in the second half of August.
So it’s obvious this situation is unsatisfactory and we desperately need players .

We have however just completely revamped and restructured our recruitment and ownership models .

I’m not saying I’m delighted , because I’m not , but to imagine that wouldn’t impact feels naive .

Tyler Dibling seems to be heading into the last year of his contract. In six months he can move abroad for nothing or in twelve he can stay in England and the decided by arbitration.

I have only seen him play once and wasn't particuarly impressed but then he is more or less the same age as Harrison Armstrong it is way too early to predict what the future holds for such a young lad.

Well if we take it that Joyce is usually fairly accurate, for the first time I'm smelling a rat with the new ownership, pulling from the old Everton playbook. No way is the Kubo deal too financially difficult and Dibling an appropriate alternative. Southampton were quoting £100m for the lad. And even if they end up way short, we will be paying them more than City want for McAtee, and similar to what Sociedad want for Kubo. For a player who is almost totally unproven.

Abd we 'lost out' on a first choice option who was obvious going to Juventus all along. Plus they're putting out all the feelers about business going into September. Not a great look tbh.

This is all very fishy.

Why did we wait until the season had finished to do that? We knew this time last year that this was going to be the position we’d be in, with hardly a first team squad to put out on a match day. It’s as if it’s taken them all by surprise that 10 players just walked out the door.

This is starting to look like how the great war ended in 2016 between the excuse makers and bed wetters.

The numbers of bed wetters are growing stronger day by day.

The castles of " We will sign players in August " and " We need to wait till the end of the Window before judging " have hordes of bed wetters approaching defeating the lines of excuse makers.

I'm hoping the excuse makers don't ita last throw of the dice by bringing out the court jester again.

What are you on about? If I told you in May that we’d have signed 1 new first teamer by the end of July and be nowhere near closing in on any new ones, you’d have laughed me out the room and told me to stop being ridiculous.
Not even 1 first teamer, really.

But you’re assuming we are nowhere near signing others. I’m assuming just as much when I say we are probably close.

His contract expires June 2027

I was told that last week when I laughed off any suggestions that we’d sign players before we went to the US.

We clearly aren’t close to anything. We’ve now moved to “considering” Tyler Dibling who would cost double that of the targets that we’ve already basically said that we can’t afford. It’s an absolute dog’s dinner from the recruitment team. They haven’t got a clue what they’re doing.

Don’t be daft, I’d have been surprised but I wouldn’t be throwing out the happy clapper line or repetitively posting the same things daily

We all want the same thing but sniping at each other and the club doesn’t get things done any quicker. If we’re still like this by the weekend of the Leeds game then yeah it’s a disgrace and more of the same but let’s hope it won’t get that far nor we bring back players we don’t want

At least one of Them was under contract somewhere else . To be clear I’m not suggesting im happy with the lack of new players just that things have to be factored in

I get why you see it that way. Honestly.

Can I ask what you’d expect from the club? Simply more completed signings? Press releases when bids are made? Or just more transparency in who they are looking at?

I’m not claiming to be right. I’m just trying to point out we don’t know anything. We are all making guesses based on the utter tosh published by people who are paid to generate content without any consideration of accuracy.
