Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

The Telegraph claimed Southampton valued Dibling at £100m. The Guardian reckoned it would take at least £50m + add-ons/sell on to get Southampton to the table. That is in the ballpark of Kubo’s release clause that is “too expensive”. It is also a massive punt on the potential of a 19 year old that eg Chelsea or Spurs could take on but realistically it is hard to see how we could.

If our recruitment team can’t do their job and recruit footballers, then they should be sacked. Don’t care how long they’ve been here. If I consistently failed at my job I don’t think it would wash if I got dragged into a meeting with my boss and said “but it’s just too damn hard though 🥺
I mean sure but looking across the league, Newcastle are struggling to get even a keeper over the line, Fulham have only really kept a player and Silva’s admitted they haven’t even begun recruiting and Forest have only brought in two Brazilians on what’s probably a dodgy deal

I’m not good about how things are but I’m trying at the same time not to lose my head over things that we as fans can’t control

Other clubs have deals lined up before the window even opens. That's what I hoped to see this year given the amount of work we need, and the fact we have new owners. It is absolutely more of the same so far this year. No organised and successful club looks to do most of their transfer dealings in the second half of August.
